Update:

Hawks are trying to move targeting Cam Whitmore.

Clint is likely to be moved for a mid 1st. Dallas been trying to get him but their refusal to trade 10 without asking for 15 is killing the trade.

Brooklyn is watching Portland to see what's next for them.

They have DFS on the block and believe they can get a 1st for him.

I can confirm Atlanta targets at 15

Cason Wallace, Bilal Coulibaly, Lively, Brandin Podziemski, Kobe Bufkin, and Nick Smith Jr.

Players they are high on: Walker and d*ck

Players they are very high on: Whitmore, Wemby, Scoot, and Miller.

Thanks for the info, interesting stuff.

Question though for mods or anyone who knows, do we have to scrub Gradey's name every time? Is there a rule against bad language/a bot that blocks it?

fun fact, according to our site statistics, this thread has now eclipsed 124,700 views.

Now back to draft talk.

That's almost 800 views a day.

Now on youtube, that would get no money.. but here amongst our what 200 members... that's encouraging.   That's like every day every member looked at this thread 4 times.

It's because of all the n'erdowells out here with their foul language.  Not me tho. 🙂

It's.not a total.surprise doing a retool if u will, with the new staff and everything may want to see if they can develop for a year something with a young core and with the money go for big free agent later.  Or pay our vets etc

I contend this is just something all teams are doing.  Lots of change this offseason.

He's one of the three. Anthony Black, Lively and Wallace. There's at least two other names in there as well. One is a guard, one is a forward. Was told not to say names.

Bufkin and whitmore other names. Not really a secret

pacers and hawks are talking about Hunter again. both teams are trying to get the most value out of rosters/picks.

For those doubting the Hawks want to move up and get another pick, that is real. Feeling is we got some young guys ready to step up and we can move contracts to (sigh) save money for Ressler as well as get more guys on rookie scale contracts.

If we stand pat and just draft another player at #15, at a minimum we're over the luxury tax and first apron.  Then we have big decisions to make the following season with Murray, Bey, and Okongwu.  None of our current contracts are particularly bad, but the sum total will get bad pretty quickly without taking action.

I heard a radio report from our primary Hawks podcaster saying that agents were discouraging players from talking to the Hawks leading up to the draft.  Why?  Because we have entrenched starters and a few young guys already fighting for playing time.  Without making a move we are already at least 2 deep at every position.

There's a lot of reasons to move a starter or two.  It's not just to avoid the tax apron.
