The Hawks got punked. No doubt about it. My only question is how do you defend a JRSmith 30 footer fadeaway off one foot? The guy didn't look at the basket one time. Lol.

JR Smith was second on the team in scoring in 28 minutes

@JayBirdHawk your attempt at logic is going to be futile.  Do you know how many of JR's 7 3-pointers were when Kyle was guarding him? Three, I went back and checked.

Does Kyle get his share of the blame?  Sure, but so do all of the starters.

lmao. J.R. was making posters from the 3 point line. That fade away 3 was pretty. Heck, i bet even the Hawk bench was like " damn, that was sweet."

Big difference in J.R. in NY and in Cleveland. He acted like a twelve year old and was a distraction in NY. But now he is shooting lights out. Does LeBron have that much positive effect on head cases? Was J.R. this good of a shooter in Denver?

I'm sure you enjoyed the 3's.

Earl was always good when things were going well.  When things went off the rails in NY, he went off the reservation (how's that for mixing metaphors).

Notice who are  the leaders in just about every category.  Scott and Humphries!  But Bud doesn't see it that way.

Oh yes! The answer is start Mike Scott and Kris Humphries and bench Paul Millsap and Al Horford. Not just start one and bench Kyle Korver, start both!

Really...?

That isn't the answer but it seems hard to argue against more minutes for both.  To Bud's credit, he actually did that in game 2.

The other observation from the numbers  @Peoriabird graciously posted (thanks!) is that our starters made their bones against Boston.  All of them have dropped wayyyy off against Cleveland.

The best thing I can say about this team right now is to repeat the old expression that "a playoff series doesn't start until a team wins a road game."  If we hold serve at home court, we can make this a series.

The more gut reaction after last night's shellacking is wondering if we might challenge our own record for worst sweep in NBA history.  I really don't think that will happen but it has been ugly.

If they do we will see some shocking significant changes. Not a coaching change, but player movement that people may not like.

This is the only saving grace.  At the end of the day, it's just 2-0.  Even if they'd won by eleventy-billion, it still just counts as 1 win.

OKC could've let their game 1 loss to SAS cause them to also lose game 2 but they actually decided to show up rather than wallow in self pity.  Hope we respond rather than fold.

NOBODY is untouchable. Ownership needs to do whatever it takes to bring an NBA Championship to Atlanta. If that means some fan favorites have to go, so be it. But what can't happen is the WLOC approach we've seen for almost 10 years.
