Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted August 4, 2017 Moderators Report Share Posted August 4, 2017 Sorry about hiding your response to AHF, cap. Maybe 5% of the players mentioned will actually get drafted here, but just to be on the safe side! (AHF can see your reply still) ~lw3

Buzzard
With the 21st pick the Flocking Buzzrds select three time all-star Klay Thompson. Klay is not just known as a dead eye shooter with a career 3pt% of .419; he is also considered to be the best wing defender on the Two Time NBA Champion Warriors. Many other very good players are available; but our brain trust thinks getting someone with Klay's talents and playoff experience is a necessity to pair up with our two young inexperienced stars. Welcome to the Flock Mr. Thompson, the Silent Assassin! @lethalweapon3 is up next. Edited August 4, 2017 by Buzzard

Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted August 4, 2017 Moderators Report Share Posted August 4, 2017 With the actual 22nd pick in the 2017 Hawksquawk Summer Dynasty Draft, the Lethal Flexibility selects: Oh, I get it, Draymond Green (Power Forward / Small Forward, 6’7”, 230 lbs., Age 27 as of 10/1/2017)! You’re a Michigan kid, and you’re out here stuntin’ with your best Pistons-era Ben Wallace impression. You do know he moved onto cornrows, right? The top-passing under-30 Power Forward in the Summer Dynasty League joins forces with the most exciting young passing Center in the business. How nice is it for the L-Flex that they’ll get to dish the rock on occasion to Stephen Curry? The leading assist-maker on the reigning league champions wasn’t Curry. It was Draymond Green, whose 7.0 APG ranked in the Top 10 of the league in each of the past two seasons. On super-teams loaded with super-duper stars that can create their own offense, the players that can keep the ball moving for better looks are the difference-makers. Nikola Jokic needs a partner to help alleviate some pressure at the other end of the floor. So one cannot do much better than pairing him up with the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. The league leader in steals and a certified pest, Green was a lock for his third-straight All-Defensive First Team honor in 2017. He ranked second in Defensive Rating (min. 30+ MPG), second in Defensive Win Shares, and first in Defensive Box Plus/Minus. Curry and Jokic will often demand help from opposing defenders. So it will help the L-Flex offense if Green can pop from outside better than last season’s 30.8 3FG% rate. Along the path to his second league title in three seasons, Draymond elevated his playoff accuracy to 41.0 3FG%, so that shouldn’t be a problem going forward. Everybody has to sacrifice on a stacked roster, and for Green, that meant doing away with a lot of his interior scoring: 63.2 percent of his shot volume within 10 feet in 2015-16 lowered to 53.2 percent last season. Replacing his plodding, elderly pivots with Jokic’s magnetizing inside-out game should help Green get his groove back in the paint. At both ends of the floor, he has already demonstrated a complementarity with Curry that was without peer on any other team, and he will continue to apply his mentality as the ideal glue player with Jokic joining the group. The ball -- the ones of the leather, dimpled variety -- always finds its way toward Draymond's hands, and that makes him an ideal fit in virtually any L-Flex lineup. So, @LucastheThird! What’s the word? ~lw3
LucastheThird
MiKeeping the draft moving, The Monsters Among Men select: PAUL MILLSAP LeBron loves having smaller stretch 4s playing with him that can still rebound. Millsap fits that role to the tee. The Anchorman will fit in well not being the number 1 option and not having to create his shot all the time with Wall's superior assist ratio. @Diesel is up next

Premium Member Diesel Posted August 4, 2017 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 4, 2017 Damnit... I was hacked three times.... With the next pick of the draft, the Atlanta Ganstaslappas Select, Kristaps Porzingis, New York Knicks Knick for Life... 2016-17 Per-Game Stats: 19.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals, 2.0 blocks Kristaps Porzingis can do everything, but it's his willingness to block shots and knock down attempts from long range that makes him so unique. Those two elements of his game have already allowed him to surpass Carmelo Anthony as the New York Knicks' best player, even if he's far from reaching his sky-high ceiling. Not only is Porzingis blocking two shots per game, but he's also allowing opponents to shoot just 42 percent at the rim. Among the 75 playersguarding no fewer than four shots at the hoop per contest (he's defending 7.5), no one is stingier. @capstone21 is up...
