Plus, he might not be quite as good as he once was. He is also in line for 4 year 200 million this summer. Good luck trading that contract in a couple years.

Lol i too have a simmons obsession and just hope the hawks can get involved somehow and nab him from Brooklyn. I dont think there is a plan B aside from Jalen Johnson taking major leaps in the offseason

Only thing missing in that analysis is that KCP has been known to be a legit, go-to offense generator. Delon is more of a complimentary piece. Also, I've watched a lot of KCP this past year or so, and am persuaded that his defense is on-par with Wright's.

 

Eh.  He seems a bit like a less efficient Kevin Huerter type of offensive contributor.  Not a zero but far from a "go to" option.  11 points a game at .537% TS% is roughly what Cam was giving us this year.

TBH, I'm sitting here quite nervous. I've heard the rumors that Boston thinks I can be had for Brad Rowland's assistant and cash considerations. I don't think I can suit up for the Green and White fan board. If it happens, I might retire.

Haven’t had one since Blue Edwards, this franchise doesn’t really rebuild like that, they stay the same for the most part with the same pieces returning since 88.

The deal works from a salary perspective but makes absolutely no sense from a long term cap perspective or production perspective.

Ingles is out and expiring.

Gay makes about 6.5 to 7 million a year for the next 2 seasons (2nd year player option).

If we waive Gallo at season's end we're on the hook for 5 million. If we trade him to Utah we're on the hook for 7 million and have Rudy Gay. That's the benefit???

I just got traded to Kingsquawk for Doug Christie's nephew.

Don't worry boys, I'mma tank my physical then tell them I'll only re-sign if they give me mod powers and 3 burner accounts.  I mean who needs 3 burners?  2 work just fine... but I've said too much.

Adding gay getting rid of Gallo is a sidways move. Helps the defense some at the expense of the offense. Originally I was more "pro" this move assuming Gay can still play in the perimeter but it seems like he is strictly a PF like Gallo now. If Joe Ingles was healthy this deal would make sense, but he isn't so I don't think this is a good one.

Smoke around the Gallo-for-Dragic deal which, imho, would be an imminently better deal - assuming the guy doesn't just show up to be bought out on his way to Miami (which is a distinct possibility again, imho)
