We’re competitive brothers. He wants the best version of me, and he’s mad when I don’t shoot well and don’t play well. I’m mad when he’s doing the same shit. That’s what you need because you push each other. You need that competition all of the time. We never get in each other’s way, and we help each other. We motivate each other. I saw that last year. The numbers don’t matter. It’s the type of plays he makes. It’s the type of player he is. He’s good, but I still think he can do a better job in everything. I still think he can be more effective, more efficient. I know he can do it. He’s still very young. He knows how good he is. I was watching the Kanye (West) documentary (“jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy”) recently, and something Kanye’s mom told him was, ‘The monster looks in the mirror and sees nothing.’ She was saying how Kanye doesn’t see how good he is. Trae is great, but I think he can be even better. I expect him to be better.

From a leadership perspective, I know the Hawks have challenged him to be better when it comes to talking and being an organizer. How have you seen him grow in this area?

He improved this year. He has the character to be a leader, and everyone knows that. He’s young, and you learn as you get older. You learn that you need to talk. You need to communicate. It’s not about getting out there and hooping anymore. In this league, you have to talk. You have to tell guys where they need to be. You have to tell them what to do. He’s done a way better job this year than last year. He’s communicating. He’s finding everyone offensively and defensively. I expect him to do more of that. Like, offensively, me and him communicate a lot on that end. I’ve told him before that he has to tell me what he wants when I’m setting a screen, like if he wants me to slip or pop. I’ve learned a lot from him and understand what he wants and what he thinks. The way he wants to make the job easier for the guys is special. He’s learned this. I know I’m not like him. I have to feed off of him.

Do you feel like he gets the respect he deserves when we’re discussing the game’s best players? I’m talking about from fans, media and all of that. 

There are a lot of guys in the league who don’t get that respect. I don’t know what it is, but what matters to me is when you go on the floor and look at how the teams are guarding you and how they’re preparing for you. They’re double-teaming him in the half court. I’ve seen this happen to Steph Curry when he had the best year and when he’s on one of those stretches where he doesn’t miss. But to go on stretches where it’s three or four games in a row, and you’re double teaming him as soon as he crosses half court, I haven’t seen that. There are times when other teams start the game normally, but as soon as he hits a couple of shots, they switch their defense and try taking him out. It’s special, and it’s funny to see it. I don’t look at it in the media. He has the respect in the league, and that’s what truly matters. I don’t think he should care about the clout. When you step onto the floor, you see the respect. That’s what should be most important to anyone.

Trae leading the league in total turnovers puts a slight damper on but if this guy had a slightly higher usage closer to his career average of 32% instead of 27% and Luka reached the mid 70’s in games played Trae would’ve easily been third.

Does anyone among us have a passion for fashion and can explain what TF that is?

And, no, I'm not talking about the gender-defying aspect of it.  I'm mainly trying to connect the dots of 'who's gonna buy/wear this and thus make the effort worth it' stuff.

Looks like a guy trying too freaking hard to convince everybody he's a fashionista.

The whispers that Hawks fans have been saying are starting become topics of conversations.  Trae is generational just like Luka. 

Luka has been injured because he doesn't come into the season in shape. 

Trae has been everything they said he wouldn't be.  He's efficient, he plays almost every game, he's a superstar. 

Luka and Trae are in the same tier of player.  Who's better just depends on your taste.

The ZERO turnovers thru quarters 2-4 is IMPRESSIVE and BIG TIME after coughing it up 4 times in the 1st quarter.

Yeah, I've asked this question in the past (in relation to runway models wearing crazy stuff) and the answer is two-fold.  The basic answer for the brands is just marketing/advertising.  The intention is not really to present something people will want to wear but to be eccentric/shocking/media-buzzing to get brand awareness.  Once your brand is in the news and being repeated out loud it is going to subconsciously influence people who shop a lot.  So this is why the brands buy and display these crazy pieces in runways and through celebrity relationships.

And it's easier to understand the other side of the equation if you see the designers who create the "high fashion" pieces as artists rather than clothes designers.  Instead of painting, sculpting, etc, their creative outlet is creating artistic clothing.  The brands buy pieces from them and use them as I mentioned above.  So you can view the people who actually wear the crazy fits (like Russ) as art connoisseurs and it makes more sense.  Instead of collecting paintings or more traditional art expressions, Russ collects and wears the art (high fashion outfits) he buys.  So when I see Russ posing in some crazy white kilt, I imagine him holding up a Picasso painting instead and it makes more sense to me.  Not sure if that helps but that's how I make sense of it because it's pretty foreign to me as well.

My fashion has moved past colors KG, I'm going with a custom plywood kilt this year
