I think most people don't want to do the leg work to compare his rookie season to others in the past. If they did they would be surprised how well he did considering he got thrown to the fire as a 19 year old.

The following might open a lot of eyes here on the board. I took out ORB and DRB breakdown to make the columns fit.

Jaylen Brown:

Season Age Tm Lg Pos G GS MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FT FTA FT% TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
2016-17 20 BOS NBA SF 78 20 1341 5.2 11.4 .454 1.2 3.6 .341 3.9 7.7 .507 2.3 3.3 .685 5.9 1.7 0.9 0.5 1.8 3.8 13.8

AJ:

Season Age Tm Lg Pos G GS MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FT FTA FT% TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
2022-23 19 ATL NBA SF 72 12 1401 6.4 13.7 .465 2.6 6.7 .390 3.8 7.0 .536 1.1 1.2 .894 3.9 1.9 1.1 0.3 1.1 2.2 16.4

And the winner is - - - US !!

So wrapping my head around the proposed trade of Lillard to Miami....the trade will be

Lillard for

Herro +1 player + 2 1sts  (or more).

Given Lillard's age (33) plus that Lillard hasn't played over 67 games in over 4 years and that he's signed through 26-27 at $62.3 million.....I'm trying to wrap my head around why Miami is doing this.

They're already missing their 2025 draft pick and the roster is aging.  Lillard is not a good defender and is only going to decline with age. I'm not understanding this.  They'll end up over $30 million over the 2nd apron and remove all flexibility going forward. This is a serious degenerate gambler vegas bet.

At this juncture, I woud just do a Capela for Valanciunas deal.   The Pelicans supposedly want a rim protector and we need a center who can hit the three and make his free throws when sent to the line.   Solid deal for both teams IMO.

Id be on board with that.
