Much rather have the pick this year than hoping for something next season. You can't count on the Kings to be a perennial playoff team, folks.

Yeah im with you on that one and im pretty sure their are atleast 4 or 5 guys in the 11 to 20 range this year that will end up being better than guys in the 11-20 range next year.   You just gotta pick the right one like we did with Jalen lol.  Next years class might be stronger but doesn't mean every player will be better than this years.  I'll take that pick if possible because you can always trade it if need be this year in a bigger trade for a star if you know 100% you have it locked.

If Bulls and Kings win tomorrow, Hawks get pick #16.

If Heat and Kings win tomorrow, there will be a coin flip to see who gets #15.

Kings lose, Hawks lose, again.

Now that Chicago lost, how does that impact the Kings pick now?

If Kings win...there will be a coin flip between them and Miami. Winner of the flip gets #15., loser #16

Welp..

Bye bye 2024 pick.. smh

I have always hated how the nba draft picks thing works.   Like how dumb is it that the longer you have to wait for a pick the more screwed you can get lol.   It should be the opposite the longer you have to wait for a pick to convert the lower the pick requirements drop until you 100% get the pick.   It should NEVER become 2nd round picks.   It should keep lowering until you guarantee get the 1st you traded for to begin with.

How does it work next season?

Their pick in 2025 is top 12 protected.   It's good for us.   Next year's draft class is much stronger.   Here's the dream scenario... Kings lose out but gets us the #13 pick in the draft.  It becomes ours..  Then, we win the draft lottery for the first time ever.

You do realize, we don't have our pick next year

Ehh.. looks like there is a good chance we will have a pick in ‘25 after all. 4D chess on the DJ trade lol.

Now we just need to trade for a ‘26 and 27’ and we are back to square one.

We own our pick in 2026. SA just has rights to choose which one they want.

What if the Kings realize they'll be in the lottery at #13 anyway and tank a few games to try and keep their pick? What then?

We win the draft lottery and it goes straight to SAS.
