Actually let’s face it ...won’t be these two it’ll be my other rivalry with @pimp “aka the Sixers in the 80’s to our Laker/Celt thing”and his boy ..

Luka Duncic...he refuses to spell it Doncic but these two our linked forever as well all know. Maybe switch out ur Dennis Smith Jr. for ur Shai Gil Alex to battle Trae! ?

I like Shai a lot and have hope he makes a 1st or 2nd All NBA Rookie team to add to my list. He could see some time at PG and SG this season.

Maybe on Sept 11, when the new game comes  out. I didn't get 2k18. I rented it , and hated the
"my player" mode because it was just a big reese  puff ad

I hate every new 2k game the first week and wish it was like the previous year...till a week later when my muscle memory kicks all that away then I’m good.

He’s a guy I didn’t want us to target for some reason but the I felt the same about Kuzma last year and I was wrong. Ya, I trust Jerry West when he’s selecting.

With my final pick, I select...

JEREMY LIN

Jeremy Lin has only played 37 games in the last two seasons, but before that he has proven himself a shooting weapon.  He is a career 35% 3 point shooter with the ability to not only be a spot up shooter, but shoot off the dribble as well.  He's a great passer.  The only concern is his health.  At the very least, he's a great mentor and will be an asset.  And I can't wait to see what he does with his hair...

Image result for jeremy lin

FINAL ROSTER:

PG: Russell Westbrook / Dennis Schröder / Darren Collison

SG: CJ McCollum / Kyle Korver / Jeremy Lin

SF:  Paul George / Josh Richardson

PF:  Lamarcus Aldridge / Jerami Grant

C:  Steven Adams / Mohamed Bamba / Brook Lopez

Coach:  Gregg Popovich

First, technically, i only misspelled Doncic once! Because i  have my line up on a clipboard, so i just copy & paste it  in the post, so i don't have to write over and over again.
anyway..

My team will contend now and for many years in the future. I'll tell you why.

My team is designed to flip the starters and the bench, when the starters begin to decline.
My starters are guys that can easily transition into top notch role players, when the time comes.
And my bench has  superstar potential, and   the ability to have a Big 3

Luka Doncic { potential superstar
Michael Porter jr { potential superstar
John Collins  { definitely an All-star

NOW
PG - Kyrie Irving  26 -  Eric Bledsoe - 28 -Payton  24
SG - Nicolas Batum 29 - Luka Doncic  -  19
SF - Kawhi Leonard 27 - Harrison Barnes 26 - Michael Porter jr 20
PF - Kevin Love    30 - John Collins 21  - Jabari Parker -23
C -  Andre Drummod 25  Nikola Vucevic 28

FUTURE

PG-Payton- Kyrie { spark plug off the bench
SG- Doncic - Batum {3 & D specialist
SF- Porter - Kawhi { 3 & D specialist
PF- Parker - Love { Strong rebounding stretch 4
C- Collins - Drummond { dude can rebound and block shots until he's 40

You are both old as dirt. My average player's age is 22.92 and my average starters age is 21.8. Your players will be in a golf community retirement home; while my players are still out surfing and enjoying the NBA Off Season Good-life.

You have a lot of young guys, and also not much playoff experience  on that team.
Those guys don't know how to win yet . They might struggle a bit when going up against some of the vet teams.  And later on when my guys are in the retirement home, your team can come by and admire all our trophies, and maybe ask for some advice on how to win a couple for themselves on day .

I think Porter and Beal with 4 appearances along with Turner with 3 appearances can help out with that. Rubio and KAT has one year of recent playoff experience. Evan Fournier has one year of playoff experience way back when he started as a rookie for Denver.

My players have some chops and this is by design, I wanted youth but I wanted youth with experience, Not a whole lot of upside hoping and guessing going on with my team. I will have my players come visit yours in the home; maybe take them out for a big old steak. Provided they still have the chops to chew one

So we are down to our last pick.  Lots of nice role players out there right now but our motto for this pick is "Go Big or Go Home."  We are reaching out to tap a dark horse rookie of the year candidate for this year -- a young player with a low floor but one with big-time potential if he pans out.  Because who doesn't like finding gold?

Definitely not us.

This player was the former #1 prospect in his high school class, ran into injury issues and is finally healthy and looking strong on the floor.  With the 163rd pick, the U-Niques select:

Harry Giles

563cde86a507e.image.png

He is a 6'11'' highly skilled forward who would have been a candidate for the top pick in the draft last year if not for his health issues.  He drew comparisons to Kevin Garnett with his long frame and versatile skills.

Quote

Once upon a time, Giles ranked as the No. 1 recruit in his class, with some scouts telling Chad Ford of ESPN that Giles was the best high school prospect since LeBron James. Then came the pile of injuries.

"There's a fear level that I've never seen before ... [Giles'] ceiling is so super high, but the risk is also, in most peoples' mind, super high," Ford said. "... I can't think of another prospect that I've covered in the last 10 years with his upside but with his medical concerns that really have teams in a conundrum."

With the last pick in the draft, we feel like the risk isn't that great with this pick but the upside is tantalizing.  His summer league debut came this year with a nice line of 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and a block.  While SL means jack, it meant a bit more just seeing Giles healthy and playing strong on the floor.  Our young big man Deandre Ayton, commented that he had never played anyone so physical in the post after matching up with him during the summer this year.

The Kings decided to sit him for the entirety of last season to fully rehabilitate his knees.  As of last January, he was already in a position to start playing but was sat out to build as strong a base as possible:

Quote

According to the Kings [in January of 2018], Giles is completely healthy with no setbacks so far. He’s also participating in team practices, as well as skill and strength conditioning.

While his health could take a turn for the worse, things look very good coming into this season.

Quote

“I’m at a point where I’ve never been before, in a good way,” Giles said with his frequent smile. “I’ve always felt strong, and I’ve been athletic in high school and stuff, but I haven’t been NBA strong.

“... I definitely did not feel this great. I’m just trying to get back to where I need to be.”

The teammates who have watched him for the last season have showered him with praise.  Bogdanovic compared him to Kings' legend Chris Webber.   @Buzzard's young vet Cat Willie Cauley-Stein has predicted that Giles will be the 2018-19 ROY.  [UNDRAFTED], a certain veteran swingman who recently signed with the Hawks, has been effusive in praising Giles both for his talent and his work ethic summing it up by saying "The NBA is Going to Enjoy Harry Giles."

We think we will too even if it takes a little time for him to get there.  Welcome to the club Mr. Giles!

We'll follow with a full team write-up in a bit.

With the next pick, Capstone's Crew selects:

KENT BAZEMORE SF/SG

usa_today_10029882.0.jpg?resize=678,381

This is the look this man has for all of you GMs who has been passing over him for this long.

Talk about a quality guy you want on your roster.  On and off the court, Kent gives 150%.  We all know what he brings, D, 3s, penetration, amazing attitude, leadership.  I don't really need to go into any more details.

He fits our model of team players who play D, is versatile and keeps the ball moving.  I can't think of a more perfect player to complete our roster with.

Welcome to the Crew Baz!

Wow.  Baze went from "trade him for a bag of Skittles" to making the Dynasty Draft?
