I believe you, but where did Chris say this?

Excerpt from his latest article

Quote

In no particular order, the Hawks are interested in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Deni Avdija, Iowa State’s Tyrese Haliburton and USC’s Onyeka Okongwu. It seems as if Auburn’s Isaac Okoro and Florida State’s Devin Vassell and Patrick Williams appear to be in the second grouping. This could change.

• Barring something unforeseen, Avdija seems unlikely to be available at No. 6, according to league sources. Chicago and Cleveland are keen on Avdija, with Golden State being a potential wild card.

Just from reading between the lines of my conversations, it does seem that the preference — if it came down to a situation where Avdija was off the board and wasn’t an option — is Haliburton over Okongwu. Either way, one of the Hawks’ top options should be available if they stay at No. 6.

• There’s some belief that Okoro has similar qualities to what the Hawks already have on the roster, while Vassell has some in the building who really like him and others who are on the opposite end of the spectrum. I’ve heard from other teams that Okoro is slipping a bit and could go outside of the top 10, which is where The Athletic’s John Hollinger projected him in his latest intel-filled mock draft.

Thanks! A little surprised about Hali over Kilian, but I guess it makes sense. Would love to get Okongwu though! Learn from Cap for 3 years and then take over year 4.

Luka Doncic is erasing the European prospect stigma, one highlight at a time - SBNation.com

This guy is the reason the Hawks have to stop f---ing around, and start building a playoff caliber roster . . . NOW!!!!!

As long as this guy is playing at an All-NBA / MVP level . . and Trae is getting screwed over despite putting up arguably the best statistical season for a small PG of all time . . Trae, and the organization are always going to get compared to ( guy pictured here ) and Dallas in a NEGATIVE light.  Ownership too.  Don't think for one minute that Ressler hates the fact that he has to see everyone guys all over ( guy pictured here ), while at the same time seeing others in the media constantly clown us for trading ( guy pictured here ) to Dallas.

Why should the Hawks continue a slow rebuild with young talent, when we already have our All-Star / Future Hall of Famer . . and another guy who could make the All-Star team next year ( if we're .500 or abLove )?

LOTTERY PLAYING IS OVER!!!

REBUILD IS OVER!!

!It's time to start adding guys who can play.  We have 6 rotation guys who are under 23 years old.  So unless #6 has the potential to be at least our 2nd best player, that pic is more than expendable to me.

If Huerter + Dedmon + #6 gets us a vet player who plays at or near an All-Star level, sign me up for that all day.

I'm keeping #6 and taking BPA. Like I said previously, all for getting GH and/or JH, but at the right price. I highly doubt either guy commits to an extension. One, they probably want to see if the Hawks are viable first. Two, they might already have another destination in mind. Three, next summer there might be more money in a post-Covid NBA.

Chris Kirschner says we are drafting Haliburton or Okongwu is Avdija is not available. Thoughts?

Chris been swearing Atlanta will draft him and my guy says he's not as high on their board as Hayes at the same position. We will see. Sometimes Chris really likes a guy and goes all in.

@NBASupes Is the trade up to #1 deal to flip for PG still a thing?

That may not be true that the hawks are on his short list . It’s just a tweet I saw in another hawks group that our fellow fans are going crazy about.

@NBASupes or @thecampster can confirm but I am almost sure it’s not true

Lol. Sometimes y'all hear it and it sounds like trash, it is trash.

Update on Westbrook and Paul.

PG and Kawhi are not on the same page but they are working with each other. PG wants Westbrook back and feels like Westbrook would be perfect. Kawhi wants Paul and he's all in for Paul.

OKC wants to trade him to Phoenix but CP3 interest in Phoenix is massively overstated. Yes, CP3 would rather be a Laker but they have no realistic shot of getting him due to the salary cap while LAC does. Westbrook wants to go to LAC but LAC as you can imagine wants Paul more. Ultimately, this comes down to Paul although OKC wants Phoenix instead for so many obvious reasons. They made a promise to Paul to send him where he wanted to go.

The bottomline is Westbrook is fighting for that spot. I was told Westbrook does want a culture change. He felt their was some malcontents and he would like to see a house clean. Harden hasn't put out there that he's ready to go, he just wants to see the team get better. Like the Athletic article, Houston is a mess culturally right now and we know who it all starts with. That said, Westbrook wanting out is overstated.

And yes, Phoenix better win next year or Devin will want out.
