Yea I wish we could be more consistent, but our peak with this lineup is a top 3 NBA team and it would be silly to keep trying to mess with that.

We are such a young team that we are going to have growing pains, even good Vet teams have bad seasons. While it sucks we can't steam roll the league and all the Covid crap put us behind the 8 ball as far as win loss record from what I can see this is a REAL team and we still need to stay the course cause when we mature mentally but our still physically at our peak this team will be unstoppable.

Before Trae and this core were put together the Hawks were such a mis mash of castoff and vets that we were never really a TEAM. This roster is a TEAM we just need time to mature.

The problem with that logic is that we didn't show that we were title contenders last season and there we were in the ECFs two games away from the finals.

After Nate took over, we were among the very best and most consistent teams in the league for the rest of the regular season.

27-11 is a 71% win rate which would have been the 2nd best record in the entire league if pro-rated for a full season.

COVID didn't put this team behind the 8 ball.  Reading their press clippings all summer and responding by basically not trying for the first month of the season put this team behind the 8 ball.   Covid came after that.  If this team had tried the first month of the season we woudl've had a Covid cushion so to speak and could've weathered the Covid storm in December.

We were 12-10 on december 1st.  Not great but not that bad and we had the hardest schedule in the league to that point.    But we were playing december without Hunter, OO, and Bogi and started to slide and then of course played a bunch of games without most of the team.   So i'm not discounting injuries + Covid for helping derail things.

Yea we were fine before covid screwed us up. Either way though we are a young team and will have some growing  pains. You can't get past that if you over react and nuke our roster

Grizzlies, Cavs, Sixers, Hornets, Bulls, Celtics, Raptors, are all younger than we are....................

I'm tired of the  "we are so young" excuse.....

That's BS.

Covid was the compounding factor along with injures to Hunter and others.

We were 4-3 going into Nov.   With losses to Philly, Cleveland, and Washington.

In Nov we had our skid..

Losing to BKLN, Phoenix, Utah, GS, Utah, & Denver.   All away games except 1 Utah game.

We followed that with a 7 game win streak starting with a win over Milwaukee.

After that started the COVID games.   We had COVID plus some games with NO Bogi, NO Hunter, No Trae, NO Clint, and No JC.   Our team had to be the worst injury/Covid team out.

Um, thats the remaining schedule..  He was talking about at the start of the season......

Did you even look at the page???   Thus far, we have had the 3rd Hardest schedule in the League.   Cleveland has had the 19th hardest which is the 11th easiest.

I was saying that for the rest of the way (bottom of the page) we will have the easiest schedule in the league.

Sometimes, it seems like you just be saying shit just to say it.

naw, that's homer posting at its finest.   There were 7 or 8 teams that were hit by Covid just as hard as us.  And there are plenty of other teams that have been hit by injuries worse that us.

Next you're gonna claim that we get hurt more by bad refs than any other team.

I'd be curious to see evidence of this.   We set an NBA record for largest roster in a single season i think with 24 players signed.   There are lots of ways to measure 'hit hardest' but we had at least three losses where the vast majority of minutes played were by 10 day guys.  I"m not sure there are 7 or 8 other teams in that situation.

Shakes... You have seen the play of our bench while we have been healthy.

What are we supposed to do with these G-Leaguers and some just 10 dayers?

TLC started several games.   He played 36 minutes?

Then when we did get guys back, they had to start off with limited minutes..

Tell me, could you point out Chris Clemons in a lineup?

ESPN Insider article from January 4.  Not sure when our Covid outbreak ended, but as of that date we were #8 in terms of most value lost behind Cleveland, Philly, Milwaukee, Minny, Chicago , Charlotte and Brooklyn.

No one lost more to Covid than Cleveland yet you don't hear their fans crying COVID COVID COVID from every rooftop in town like our fans.

I don't have insider but i found a reference to the article in a Boston pub.

Quote

Pelton published an article detailing the impact of players entering the league’s health and safety protocol because of COVID-19 cases or positive tests this season. For the second campaign in a row, Boston finds itself among the NBA’s top five teams affect by COVID-19. They happen to check in at fifth overall behind the Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks, in that order.

Now think to yourself which of those teams had games postponed because they were missing players for Covid?   Seems like all of them did.  all but 1.

I get your point but to say covid had no affect on our season is bunk.

December 19th was our 1st Covid case with Trae. I think it ended January 11th with Dieng as the last player to return, followed by coach Nate on January 12th.

Considering I had the pride of the Campbell Camels on my college basketball fantasy team  a few years ago you better believe I can point Chris Clemons out in a lineup.  Pro tip:  he's the short guy.

All you're doing is pointing out the games where Covid hit us hard, but you're not doing the same thing for the other teams in the league.  and injuries are the same deal.  Other teams have had them just as bad if not worse.

Just look at Chicago.  Best record in the East and they haven't even had their starting PF the entire season.  Plus they got destroyed by Covid and they have had other injuries as well to key all star players.     The only advantage they had over us is they had a couple games postponed whereas the league made us play when we had just as many guys out.

So posting the box scores from a few Hawks games doesn't disprove anything I said unless you are going to show me how all those other teams I listed weren't really affected by Covid as much as ESPN is saying they were.

This article was posted on Jan 6th.

It shows that we were 3rd highest number of COVID protocol behind Indy and Washington.

It doesn't show the # of injuries to key players during that same time.   We were most injured too.

Cmon, that's ridiculous thing to post.   For one, it only accounts for who is out on that exact date.  And it doesn't account for the level of player.  So it's quite disingenuous to say we top that list when 3 of the 5 players listed are guys who aren't even in the rotation.  Be better Diesel.

Now please post a legit list of injuires for all teams so we can see just how accurate your claim that we were the most injured team as well?
