You're making things up.

If you don't interview people, you never know if you hire the right person.  Full stop.

That doesn't even make any sense. Do you think UGA thinks they didn't hire the right person in Kirby Smart?

Interviews are necessary EXCEPT when you already know everything about the candidates.

Again, Kyle Korver has more information about the candidates, save Ime, than anyone who would interview them.

I've been calling for Quinn for a year now because he is gonna be the coach to make Trae get right or be traded. You are correct.

Yeah I cant see them hiring a 4th coach for Trae..

They have to get this one right...

To @kg01 point, this isn't a 'wide ranging' search for a coach as widely reported, since in essence they aren't interviewing any other candidates.

They could have conceivably completed a half dozen Zoom interviews yesterday (or more), but you're not going to learn anything about those because almost all if not all are the property of other teams.

You say that like they hired LP or Nate FOR Trae.  Neither is true.

LP was hired as a developmental dude and a cheap coach that would take Ls during the tank/rebuild.

Nate was hired SOLEY because of the ECF run and the FO had no other choice but to hire him.  If they had any stones they would have researched his previous failures, thanked him for the fun ride, and then gone out and hired a legit coach.

Either way, Ressler wouldnt want to take the PR hit.......

Trae already has a label outside of Hawks fans..(warranted or unwarranted)

Imagine if this one doesnt work out..

Just sayin..

I want Pero back now.  Sad-face emoji.

Keep the movie villain out of Atlanta.  Easily one of the most overrated scrub Hawk players in history.

Although I was in the building when he hit the 1-legged 3 vs Charlotte to tie the game up at the end of regulation.  I think he was 0 - 6 before that shot.

Yall clearly are reading something I'm not saying.

There are no other openings.  There is no need to hire anyone right now.  A push to hire him now gives Snyder 100% leverage.

You never make a hire under those circumstances.  We're bending ourselves over a barrel.  I'm not crazy here.

And there's several reasons not to make a hire mid-season.  There's a reason it's so rare.  If they need him to come in now to determine who to get rid of then we're in for worse shape, from a FO standpoint, than I can imagine.

I think you’re reading too much into it. You never know …they could have been eyeballing Synder to be the next head coach months ago when the Mcmillian issues started.

You probably Got the best post in this thread. It's realistic. He either will get it or get traded.

I’m ok with this. If we get to a point where Trae Request a trade or wants out ….this is one of my top reasons wanting Synder here. Keeping a top tier coach long term is important to me regardless of what happens with any star player. That’s not to say I’m choosing Snyder over Trae…I’m not choosing at all.

My prediction if Quin is hired.

He falls in love with Hunter, Okongwu, Matthews, JC, Murray who he already loves, and Griffin.

Trae and Capela end up in the hot seat

Bey. Bruno, and JJ are up in the air

Trade Trae for another star but one that fits.

Trade Capela for another top tier specialist, one that fits.

Murray will move to PG. Griffin to SG unless we get Edwards. Hunter at 3. JC at 4. We need a better fitting 5 to play next to JC.

I think this move, saves JC. While his lack of positional versatility is an issue. Quin offense loves movement players and values them. JC will finally find a fit. While Capela has movement skills, his anti gravity is a killer for non heliocentric offenses. I think he will get shipped out this offseason.

Quin likely can turn us into regular playoff contenders but we need a #1 option on offense.

Okongwu is another big winner. This offense will have him looking like 90s Horace Grant. I can't wait to see the maturation of Okongwu.

Many are going to hate this post but that’s not how I see it. You are betting that Trae will not work in Snyder system no matter how much Synder adjust his system for Trae.…Thats fair!

I’m a huge Trae fan and I’m not mad about your opinion or thought process on this ….but Synder is on record stating that he adjust his offenses based on the personnel of the team and he did that in Utah. I recently posted an article about that with quotes directly from Synder.

Im not really worried about Synder and Trae relationship…I think as fans we need to hold both accountable. Synder needs to do his best to make Trae Young work greatly in his offense and as long as he does that I’m good with Synder ….and for Trae….

Trae needs to stay true to his desires that we’ve learned about! I will keep saying this because to me it’s gold! @NBASupes you know better than I do that Soth source has said multiple times that Trae has pushed and wanted a motion offense. Soth has said it so much I’m shocked no one brings it up as much as I do…I trust the source so for me trae got or will get what he asked for . It’s time to show up now! …..Simple as that ….

im not going to say Trae can’t operate in a motion offense system .. I personally think it’s ONLY fair to give Trae the opportunities to show us before we judge regardless of the styles we’ve seen him play in the past. Maybe Trae wants to learn the motion offense to better himself as an offensive player.

We know he’s not going to fit instantly but how do we know he doesn’t have desire to learn and grow to be a great fit ?

Quin's offensive style is literally the exact opposite of Nate's (3's and close range shots only; no mid range). I would love to see him change the scheme mid-season with this roster. I don't think i've ever seen this happen in the NBA (A complete 180 degrees change in scheme with a new coach midseason)

That’s not completely true. Jazz didn’t start out launching a bunch of 3s when Synder arrived .

we aren’t giving Synder enough credit for adjusting his style based on player personnel. Snyder is smart , he’s not just going to run his system of shooting a ton of 3s if the team isn’t built that way.

David Robinson had 6 coaches before Pop finally took over

  • Larry Brown
  • Bob Bass ( who was the VP of operations that took over for Brown )
  • Jerry Tarkanian ( fired after 20 games )
  • Rex Hughes ( coached only 1 game )
  • John Lucas
  • Bob Hill

Only Hill got them to the WC Finals before he was eventually fired.  None of those coaches lasted more than 3 years with Robinson.

The problem wasn't Robinson.  He was All-NBA.  The problem was the talent around Robinson, which just wasn't good enough to beat the Seattles, Portlands, Phoenixes, and Utahs of the world on a consistent basis.  90s Spurs were essentially the Hawks, before Pop took over and they got Tim Duncan.

Trae needs another Hall of Fame level talent next to him, just like the other top guys in the league, to see the Hawks get to the next level.  If not, Trae will have to play like the best PG of all time.

So what you're saying is somebody needs to take a bat to Traes knee so we can tank for a season lol

You've said that to multiple people now my man lol.

I don't think it's us.

Ok, I'll fade off into the Bolivian on this one.  Seems I'm outnumbered.

Im not gonna be one of the miserable ones rooting for things to fail so they can say they were right tho.  I'll leave that to (we all know who). Hahaa.
