I don't believe for a second that Ressler would pay the tax for Bey.  I do believe he might say that he would do it (or think about doing it if [fill in with condition that won't be met]).

I don't think they gave him away (5 second round picks are a lot of picks even if only second rounders) and I don't think they predicted his shooting slump.  It bucks against his career trends.  His defense on the other hand is probably why they were willing to move on.  And that will remain an issue for him going forward.  His hustle is a positive constant and his shooting should improve.

Say what you want but if we could add a Delon Wright and Okoro to our rotation that would be a HUGE boost to our defensive upside.

I love Delon as a combo guard that fits next to any of our current guard rotation.

Okoro is an okay piece that I would rather see on the court instead of the Matthews.

You would essentially be swapping playing time from Mills/Forrest/Mathews/Matthews to Wright and Okoro.

Not sure the assets going out but I like the influx of PLAYABLE defenders that aren’t a complete joke on offense.

When you show weakness in trades, teams will take advantage of you.   Right now, we shouldn't approach this deadline in "weakness" because we think ourselves to be a .500 team.   Instead, we ignore the piss poor deals the same way that Minnesota and OKC will.  And we realize that we have not been healthy and we just may be better than a play in team.

Y'all want to hate on Bey but we'd be in really bad shape without him.  And his D has improved.  I wish a few other guys on his team would have his motor and toughness. 

He's exactly what you want in a guy coming off the bench or having to do spot starting.  

Assume we'd get Okoro or Delon but not both.  We really need a backup 4.

If the Hawks are committed to a Trae/DJM backcourt going forward I still think they need an overhaul of the frontcourt if they want to move beyond being a "mid" team.  

I would not make any moves for short term fixes.  Any moves the team makes should be with next season and beyond in mind in my opinion.

Bey isn't a lock to be on the market anymore. I was told they are strongly considering resigning him and paying the LT. Yes, I know. I'll believe it when I see it but there is a lot of hype around this in league circles.

Capela is still on the market but I am told it's just not a big market out there for him. As I've said weeks ago, I think Clint will finish out his contract with Atlanta even if its as a backup. 

Hunter seems to be the enigma within the org. There are serious suitors but Atlanta has a lot of internal push back on moving him without a proper big wing moving forward and that's pretty much been the ongoing story with Hunter and his trade availability for years. I don't expect him to be moved. 

Atlanta is seriously pushing for a Mills upgrade. Delon Wright has been the target. I am told Alex Caruso is not the target and the Bulls would rather keep him. 

LaVine was close to getting moved to Detroit but he doesn't want to play there and had surgery. They shifted their energy to FA, Tobi Harris

Atlanta isn't shopping SAC 1st or their 1st. I am not expecting them to be players in the starters tier of the trade deadline names. 

Hawks are really open to targeting another big wing to backup Hunter. Okoro is a player Atlanta is targeting. 

A.J. is said to Atlanta best asset, that Atlanta willing to move and he's been in talks for Okoro. 

If I had To rank Atlanta trade interest, 

1. Backup big wing - They reached out to Brooklyn about both wings too but the price was too high for Atlanta. 

2. Backup PG - Delon, reached out to Chicago about Caruso but cost was top high. 

I don't see a trade that's gonna be big. 

 

I got updates from my sources. Basically Messy Ressy has turned from being willing to blow up most of the roster to now he wants to add to it. 

The team, as I and others said, were never going to give away players for basically nothing like those horrible Lakers deals. 

It appears the only Hawk of note that might be moved is AJ for either Grimes or Okoro. The team has taken Murray off the market per Quin's request. The market for Capela is not what they thought it would be. Hope is they can move him in the offseason. Bey's still on the market but they seem to be willing to try and keep him past this season. Hunter's market is still there but the team has zero big wings other than him. They simply can't trade him unless we get a big wing 3 &D player back and those players are hard to get.

I have heard that Messy Ressy realizes his refusal to pay the LT has handicapped the FO and their ability to make trades or sign players. So going into the first LT apron is perhaps going to finally happen.

As I have said many times I will believe we are paying the LT when it actually happens.

As much as I loathe even the slightest suggestion that hotSupes was right about something, it's clear Bey is better when Hunter plays (i.e. takes pressure off Bey).

I still think AJ is our best bet for acquiring frontcourt help we need.  Pick CHA's carcass.  Get PJ Washington and Nick Richards.

Also, I don't see Cleveland trading Okoro now without getting value back even if he is too expensive to resign - he is averaging 24+ minutes a night on a team that has only lost twice this year!

We definitely had the assets to get KP who’s playing like an allstar and would have fixed a lot of our front court issues.

Not that simple.  Remember Porzi agreed to re-sign in BOS which is the main reason that trade even happened.  It's not "just the deal".

Maybe we can swing mills + 2nd for Joe Ingles. He  at least knows quin and is an expiring contract so we can free up cap space in the off season and all go back to pretending that ressler will actually go into the LT until he doesn’t. 

If there is a keep AJ camp, then put me there.  I hate it that he's going through so much and I'm not ready to give up on him.  Even if he ultimately decides to just walk away from basketball, I'd rather gamble on him putting his life and his game back together.  He was too promising last year just to pawn him for peanuts.  Especially when we are a long way from contender status.

It’s an unknown for sure. But I don’t think he would have been unwilling since it meant getting out of a Washington rebuild.

He’s not KD. He doesn’t just get to pick where he wants to go.

Possible.  I wanted Porzo too so I'm not fightin the feelin'.  I just think league politics and backroom deals would've killed us there.
