We generate so many high quality looks and are so shit at them.

Whole thing went to chit after halftime.  Still felt like we had plenty of ops to be up by 10.  Looked like everyone was waiting for somebody else to pick them up and get them going.

Scal ripping Hunter's decision-making.  Says he can't process the game well enough, fast enough to reach his ceiling as a player.  Says he's good but won ever be elite.

Just sharing.  Whatevs.

I'm just happy he's been more aggressive.     Last night he had a bad second half but... he played decent defense on JT.

There was a point though... Trae, Bogi, and JJ were out of the game and it was Patty, Hunter, OO, Garrison, and somebody else...  Well, Patty doesn't play like a PG (i.e. he wasn't running the offense).  Somehow, the ball was given to Hunter.  Hunter looked kinda like a deer in headlights at first but he dribble across and either got his shot or made an assist..    Point is, I don't expect that Hunter would ever be a creator either... but I do think he will be able to get his shot off if he needs.

I think a bigger miss on our team is AJ Griffin.   He could have been developed to be a dangerous 3 like Bridges.  But our coach says, if you can't beat a three point gunner in a practice shoot off, I will never play you.

Griffin is a 3pt gunner who should be winning practice shoot offs.  He needs to be playing in the g-league to get back into a rhythm.  He is 1-16 from 3 over his last 9 games played.  His last game with double digit minutes was in November (where he was 0-8 from the field).

He has been an elite shooter for his whole life until this season.  He should be an ideal candidate to thrive in an offense that generates lots of open looks.

Nah..  Not against Garrison Mathews. A 4-5 year vet who is a specialist.   Mathews is shooting 45% from three this season.   The best shooter on our team.    Quin knew that AJ who was coming off of a slump couldn't beat Mathews who is moving into his Kyle Korver phase of shooting.

I agree.  I think his ego won't let him play in the G-League just like his ego didn't let him go full out in Summer League.

He's only hurting himself in that manner.. but he will  get another coach if traded and that coach will help him.

I'm not literally saying he needs to beat Mathews in a practice shooting contest as much as saying that Griffin should look great in practice shooting sessions.  It should be obvious that Mathews can't generate offense at all and is just there to take open shots which is not enough for this team and why he isn't getting consistent minutes.  AJ showed more in his age 19 rookie season than Garrison has shown in any of his age 23-27 seasons.  AJ shooting the ball shouldn't be a problem even if his 3pt% wouldn't be quite as good as Mathews (Trae, DJM, Hunter and Bogi can't match that number but are obviously much better as well which is why they play every game they are healthy and Mathews doesn't.

His ego doesn't get a say in the matter.  He is contractually obligated to play there if he is assigned to play there.  There may be personal issues or something going on where it makes sense not to force him to play in the G-League but if it is just ego then Fields needs to sit him down, give him the tough love lecture, and assign him to play there whether he embraces it or not.

I wasn't super impressed with Loston.  Theyre loaded compared to us but we fairly easily hung with them and were down 2 starters.

I thought I would be more impressed but I just wasn't.  As a team that's much better balanced and having an actual identity and plan, they win games.  But they have the same weaknesses as past years.  They play wrong (all the 3s despite a decided and comical size advantage).  And still have a Jaylen Brown aka TO problem.  His decision-making and handle will betray them at some point.

They, like the nicks, seem like heavy favorites now but I think they're ripe for the pickin.  Not necessarily by us  since we clearly have our own issues.  LAC and a few others are still a tier above them.

None of these teams in the east is that good. With Pat Bev, I got the Bucks winning the east. That's all they needed was a backup PG who can pester and brings a swagger.

The West is where it's at. Loaded teams all over. I just don't see anyone seeing LAC.

Last year's MIA would get to the finals again this year.  East seems stacked but all these teams are flawed and taking the regular season very serious - NYK does this every year with Thibs.

Only LAC (health) can stop LAC.

The East is really talented and most of the teams that are winning are deep but it's not stacked.

That's why I said it "seems" stacked.  Teams' records are leading these eggsperts to believe they're seeing greatness in those teams.  I don't see it with any of them really.  Of course one will advance but I don't believe in any of them.  MIL still has a Rivers problem but their overall talent could overcome it.
