TANKWATCH GAME OF THE NIGHT:

Indiana at Sacramento: No TankWar head-to-heads tonight! So we'll have to settle for the Kings as tonight's only Tanking home team. They've dropped two in a row during their unfortunately timed homestand, since "beating" the Hawks last weekend. Can they pull off a home victory against the playoff-clinched Pacers? Former King Darren Collison returns to town after his Pacers tripped up Golden State a couple days ago. Get to your seats early, Kings fans!

Not worthy of a Bell at this point, but... ding the Tank Triangle for Detroit! Pistons staying alive even without Blake Griffin (ankle). Hang in there, DC Family. Your savior, John Wall will be back soon! Otto Porter? Well, we'll see.

TANKWATCH GAME OF THE NIGHT:

Detroit at New York: The Knicks can officially move beyond Atlanta's reach with a home win, and while the Pistons are trying to stave off elimination, they'll have to do it without Blake Griffin. I speak for Jesse Itzler when I say... Go New York, Go New York, Go!

Ring the Tank Bell for Chicago! Washington seems to be becoming what we feared Bring Back the Band Atlanta would be. Imagine if they were indeed worse with Wall around! But we'll happily take all of the Wiz opponents' Tank Bell ringers!

Meanwhile, at the corner of Competing and Tanking...

Bobby Portis was deep into an answer about how some fans are upset when the Bulls win because it harms draft-lottery positioning when he dropped a comparison so jarring that it flummoxed reporters.

“We don't care about that. We work hard. This is our job to perform at the highest level,” Portis said Sunday. “If a guy works at Walgreens and his job is to put cookies at the cookie station, he has to do that. We have to try to make baskets."

The social-media reactions ranged from hysterical to, well, hysterical — the latter group demanding to know where the alleged cookie stations are.

Enter Walgreens, whose corporate headquarters happen to be based in Deerfield, home of the former Berto Center.

“Our stores don’t normally have a cookie station, but perhaps Bobby Portis has been to our flagship store at State and Randolph, which does have a selection of freshly baked cookies,” Walgreens spokeswoman Emily Hartwig-Mekstan said Monday. “Anything we can do to help bring home some more wins for our hometown Bulls!”

Some Bulls Fans: "Hold off on that prescription, Walgreens!"

TANKWATCH GAME OF THE NIGHT:

Sacramento at Phoenix: Narrowing back in on the Suns would be kinda nice! But with a loss today (it's getting harder to randomly find genuine wood to knock on these days) in Miami, the Hawks could shrink their Tragic Number with the Kings all the way down to 1 if the road team prevails in this one. Phoenix took 2 of 3 from Sacto so far this year, but they haven't played each other since December 29. For Josh Jackson, whose clutch jumper in Clutch City should have beaten the Rockets, his current streak of 15+ points in ten straight games is only one behind Donovan Mitchell for the longest among NBA rookies.

Aside: proof the Mavs AREN'T tanking very hard, or nah?
