Are you guys sure that LA has to trade Deng at all?

They don't. They have capspace to sign LBJ. If they want to sign another player they'll have to. Spurs aren't taking back Deng in any trade from what I've heard.

With the LeBron James $35.65M cap hit, Los Angeles now has $13.4M in cap space after all free agent cap holds are released except for Julius Randle. Releasing the Randle hold would get the Lakers to $25M in room. Los Angeles can keep Randle and stretch...

Releasing the Randle hold would get the Lakers to $25M in room. Los Angeles can keep Randle and stretch the $36.8M owed to Luol Deng over five seasons. Doing so would see Los Angeles with $23.2M in room. The Lakers will have the $4.4M room midlevel exception available after cap space is used.

By the way, What do we do with Hueter because I think that he is a starter in the NBA

It will be a while before he is a starter ... I see him as a quality sixth man.

KCP just signed for 12 million with the Lakers for the season so their cap is getting slowly eaten away ... makes a Deng/Hart to us make more sense

They can stretch Deng and offer Capella or Cousins 23 million a year while keeping Randle. Release Randle and stretch Deng they have something in the max neighborhood left to offer.

@JayBirdHawk I missed your earlier post at first and with that they have about 10 if they stretch Deng and keep Randle.

We aren’t players this year ... if a signing happens it will be after the dust is settled and all the big names are gone

Yes. Schlenk said to expect this.
