I know this will sound bad, and I don't mean it to. But Antman is not very bright. He went to Therrell, not exactly the hardest public high school in the world, and was failing classes. At Georgia, he would often forget plays and assignments. Basketball is actually a thinking man's game. The great ones, like Jordan, LeBron, Kobe were/are smart guys, with like an encyclopedic memory for the game. Antman ain't that. He could still become a great player, but he's not the sharpest, just keeping it real here.

There's a more tactful way to make this point but we all know you ran out of tact long ago.  First of all, the HS he went to has nothing to do with intelligence level.  Not everyone can move whenever we want and iiuc he had a bit of a rough upbringing.  I went to a "bad" elementary and middle school so I'm aware your surroundings do not necessarily make you.

Also iiuc, most players forget plays/actions from time to time so that doesn't necessarily equate to intelligence either.

So no you're not "keeping it real" here, you're keeping it real offensive.

That said, he does not come across as a high bbiq player.  As you said though, doesn't mean he can't be really good.  Just puts a possible limit on the positive outcomes as a player he has.

It doesn't work the same for me anymore.  It's weird.  Some would say it's a c-o-n-spiracy.

I take offense to this. You don't rate someone's intelligence by flunking out of school or not remembering plays. What if he has ADD or something?  Don't f*cking talk about someone's intelligence when you know nothing about them personally.

This is a thinking man's game to SOME degree especially if you want to be elite. That being said, he has some understanding based on both interviews I've seen with Mike Schmitz so he's not daft like Dion Waiters. It might take him sometime but there is nothing hard work can't overcome with his skill-set and physical gifts.

Yeah, that's not what bleachy was doing.  He was questioning his OVERALL intellgience, not just his BBIQ.

There's no perfect way to measure or describe someone's intelligence. I understand it's a loaded term. Teams will use a euphemism like maturity sometimes instead. But I'll say this, when Kobe, Jordan were coming out, the first thing out of coaches mouths were about how bright they were. That's not what coaches say about Antman. They are however effusive that he's a good teammate that loves the other guys on the team.

Let me so how to approach this.  You are talking about his BBIQ which is fine, but your comment above made it seem like he was an unintelligent person in general.  That's the part I was taking offensively.

His BBIQ may be low, because he didn't start playing basketball until he was 14.  However, that does not mean that he won't learn the game if he has a good work ethic, which some question.

This is what you should've said first.  I think this is a fair critique.

I'd take him at 6 all day. He's a big time talent, not sure if his game contributes to winning though. He's not a safe pick by any means.

The thing is, its always been but scouts and FOs have questioned his size and the fact that he would need time size wise to transition into the NBA. Teams see the size difference and yeah, he might be that 4th PG taken which is highly coveted. Haliburton, Ball, and Hayes are the consensus top PGs. After that, teams are all over the place. Some like Lewis Jr. Some like Hampton. Some like Maxey. Some even like Mannion and think he's a lottery pick. This draft will be as interesting as one we have ever seen just based on projection. This will feel like a NFL draft more than previous classes where there was few surprises. Last year, only lottery surprises were Nassir Little falling and Cameron Johnson raising. This year, we just don't know, especially after 9.

I cant wait...For this to be such a "horrible" draft, Its still exciting..lol

I was fairly impressed with the way he played at uga but have no idea if he'll be a good pro or not.  He definitely has the tools though.   I still think it's just crummy to say a guy just barely out high school lacks "professionalism".    I'd be plenty happy if the hawks rolled the dice on him.   This is a draft where someone is going to luck into the break out star.

You cant just dismiss personality concerns or behavior just because they are young. You're investing millions and millions of dollars into this person. NBA season is an absolute grind, and if someone has questions about motivation or work habits that has to be a major consideration.

Why does this bother you so much?  If you're up for a job paying 7-8 figures, you're gonna have to professional-up.  That's true of every job.

If he was like me and landed that sweet gig at Blockbuster at the same age, he'd have to display a degree of professionalism and not giggle every time he sees a dude duck into the 'adult' area behind the curtain.  Otherwise he'd suffer the consequences.

It's fair at Blockbuster so it's even more expected in a job that high profile.
