How long will it take us to find just the right special players though?  Who do you think they are?  How will we acquire them?

Well, originally... These are some of the people I thought would be right next to Trae...

Klay.  I had a Trae and Klay perputual dream.   But I don't think Klay plays defense at the level.

then.

PG13.  I thought having an older defensive wizard would help.  But LAC is not moving PG13 for nothing. And he's oft injured.

then..

Spyda.   This was a F the Defense, we can overwhelm people with our offense.

About Murray.  I think that Murray can be the right fit.  He's sorta like Klay but he can actually run an offense.   I think we probably need different coaching.   D'Antoni can make this work...

He worked with:

Nash and Barbosa  (Nash and Joe Johnson too).

Harden and CP3.

We talking 61 and 62 win teams.   He can make the Trae and Murray dynamic work at it's highest level.  I don't think Nate has the creativity to make it work at it's highest level.   Moreover, Nate has to force them to think basketball.   Our team thinks sloppy.

Klay is washed to the degree he will be paid. No

PG13 is not available and I can see him disliking Trae.

Mitchell and Trae would be an insanely bad defensive backcourt. Cleveland has Allen and Mobley who are defensive specialists and still struggle with Garland and Mitch defensive issues, Trae is the WOAT. Offensively, I just don't see Trae sharing well with any perimeter player whereas Garland and Mitch works.

Murray is probably one of the PGs I feel can fit Trae more than others and even he doesn't fit with Trae. Supports my theory that Trae can't fit well with any SG or SF.

Trae is a different beast. He's a lot more selfish than those guys. Even Mike D would need Trae to reel it in and that's hard to do.

If it's not KAT or Embiid. I don't think anyone can greatly improve our situation as we need someone that doesn't get in Trae's way.

As Shams Charania reported on The Rally, the Hawks, Suns, and Jazz engaged in three-team trade talks involving John Collins going to Utah, Jae Crowder and player(s) to Atlanta, and Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley to Phoenix.

Suns guard Landry Shamet was also discussed in the trade talks, league sources told HoopsHype. In at least one framework of the three-team trade talks, Shamet would’ve gone to Atlanta with Crowder, sources said.

Getting off of Collins now would also solve their upcoming luxury tax crunch for 2023-24.

Vanderbilt and Beasley to Atlanta for JC

Hel ya I’d pull this one for sure. Vanderbilt is a dude I’ve wanted for a while. He knows his role and he fights for boards and understands grind.

Beasley is an animal and weapon off the pine 🌲.

Ya, sign me for this. Gimme any of the following..

Crowder

Vanderbilt

Beasley

Monte Morris

Will Barton

This is a fugly trade.   I don't like any of what we're getting.

Right and it's bs.   If the Jazz want JC we would just take Beasley and JV.  They are way better than Jae and Shamet.   Unless we're just desperate to have $10 million less when Crowder contract is up.   If we made this trade then we can tattoo 'cheap' on Resssller's face.

JC to Indy for Daniel Theis and 2 future first (2023 and 2025)..

I was wondering why the Indy fans were clapping for JC when he fouled out...

The fans already know.

🤢....an injured guy? Greeeat! We can add him to our long list of injuries.

Shamet is awful.

If we are just trading Collins for tax purpose, then at least get valuable pick. Not late 20s pick from Suns.

The other issue is we'll still be over the cap and unable to sign any real FA.

Why would anyone give up anything of value for a player that is on his fourth consecutive year of decline, coming off of injuries, locked up for 20 million + for the next several years?. We aren't getting anything more than a non-lottery pick and mediocre players back for Collins. Only players with any trade value atm are probably Trae and Okonguw.
