No, I’m not talking about the aggravating impingement at either end of the perpetually pardoned Ben Simmons’ backside. I’m talking about Yours Truly, skipping town on Hawks Nation to pack for Gobble Gobble Day.

You’ll be able to figure out how our Atlanta Hawks can close out their four-game homestand in style, versus Simmons’ and coach Jacque Vaughn’s Brooklyn Nets (7:30 PM, Bally Sports Southeast and 92.9 FM in ATL, YES Network in The BK), who are rested after two off-days (ha-ha, schedule makers, you got us again!), but whose backcourt depth is further depleted by injuries to Cam Thomas and Dennis Smith.

Certainly, figure out how Lonnie Walker (16.6 PPG, highest among NBA’ers w/ under 25 MPG; 45.6 3FG%) does not come away as the best ex-Spur on the State Farm arena floor. And how Mikal Bridges (42 points last March, second-most over by a Net vs. ATL) can lead a Nets team (6-7) that’s somehow dead-last in steals (5.5 team SPG, 30^th in NBA). And if these two teams can keep from combining for 400 points before heading out into the cool night air.

Even if you cannot, hopefully Quin Snyder’s got some good schemes cooking that look more appealing than Aunt Petunia’s stuffing. Yes, it’s stuffing. Because you can’t dress the trash can where it’s headed.

After that track meet last night, I hope our players have something in the tank for tonight.  Trae played 39 minutes. Next was DJ with 34. JJ 33.  Bogi is the one to watch - will he have any lift in his legs.

Oh that has been my whole plan..: if caught on kiss cam I’m turning to the special lady and saying.. “do I know you”… then raise my hand up in her face…

Tonight is the first of five home-only B2B sets for Atlanta, the next one coming in mid-January, when the Zards follow-up the Pacers.

In addition to Gameboy Simmons (impinged back nerve, on the other side this time), Cam Thomas (sprained ankle) and Dennis Smith (sprained back) are Out. The Nets' two-way guys (except for Armani Brooks), plus Noah Clowney and Dariq Whitehead, are on Long Island G-League duty.

Nets' GameNotes points out Brooklyn has won season-series versus Atlanta in each of the past six seasons (going back to 2017-18, 17-5 overall in that stretch). Brooklyn (16-2 vs. Dirty South Division in 2022-23) won 12 straight versus Southeast opponents before Trae's floater did them in at the buzzer back in February. Coach Igor was an assistant on Coach Vaughn's staff last season.
