Official Game Thread: Magic at Hawks -- The Home Opener!

They've already messed up my 50 win season prediction but I'll take it! I expected us to start off slow which we are. Everyone but Trae lol naw even Trae has alot of room to improve and will grow even more this season. I can see slight chemistry issues as far as guys trying to make plays for guys and them not quite being on the same page. All in all it's going to get tougher as teams adjust and gain chemistry of their own but we will also be getting better and tougher. We're doing what we're supposed to do right now which is win the games we're supposed to win and overall this should be a beautiful season with many more to come!!

Seeing the length Reddidh and Hunter cover on defense is amazing.

Cam's shot so far is broken. He's still a little gun shy. You can see him thinking the game, can't wait until the plays become instinctual for him. He'll be ok.

He needs to drive in the paint more and shoot or pass, he's capable of doing that.

When Trae isn't on the court, the offense is on the struggle bus.

I was cussing LP when he took Trae and JC out in the 4th with a 1 pt deficit. They back down only 5 thankfully. Still dont like it but I get it.

He is thinking the game on offense too much but I do like that we are drawing up actions for him and they aren't ending up as turnovers and are actually creating chances. He is learning as he goes. 

 

Trae is critical to EVERY rotation it seems. Whoever plays with Trae has the best +/- is what I see.

For the second consecutive game, I heard the opposing team's postgame show start off with the obvious (them losing), followed by a long diatribe praising Trae. State Farm has an atmosphere with him lighting folks up that I haven't seen in a LONG time. When Cam and a few others really get their sea legs under them offensively, oh boy.

Save up and get your tickets early. The way this is projecting, those available seats are going to become quite expensive and rare pretty soon...

We must give props to old man VC! He really calmed this young team down the stretch and was out there instructing on what to do! Really enjoyed that and it was a brilliant decision for LP to put him in down the stretch! VC veteran leadership really showed folks!

My favorite part was right before Ice Trae hit that insane 3 off the glass ...if you go back and watch the play you can see VC telling collins and the other to get the hell out the way and let Trae work! That showed Vince really trusted Trae and knows he lives for big moments like that near the end of the game.

 

oh and I love LP post game interview as he mentioned the most important thing tonight was Orlando’s poor shooting percentage (I highly agree)...shows the effort taking place on defense.

The Magics are even better than they were last year when they won the division and stole a game from the World Champ Raptors in the playoffs. And Hawks just defeated them, our 0-4 kryptonite last year, starting 2 rookies. Hawks are going to make the playoffs in this year 3 of the “reset.”

Their defense was elite tonight. They forced us into a lot of unfavorable situations. They really shut down the three-point line. They made it tough at the rim as well. Issac is such a monster.

TRAEMAZING!!!

Did anybody else see the excitement in his eyes when we were tied down the stretch. Trae Young loves the moment and is a superstar. 
 

This team likes each other, plays for one another and just wants to win. That BANK 3! How many of you knew it was going in? There’s a certain synergy between Trae and the rim.

Collective team win I’m so proud of these guys. I’m also very happy with my 46 win prediction but if I could go back I’d change my leading scorer from Collins to Trae. As much as Trae is a facilitator and assists with them best of them he’s also a straight up killer who wants to score like A.I. This kid is a freakin monster. We have done very very well.

Hoping Bruno is ok I hate rolled ankles. Loved the tip in by the big guy early on. He’s very active.

My boy Damian came in off a Trae pass with a quick jam. All you people that rode him off when hadn’t even played didn’t seem fair. Nice work big man.

I can’t leave out Bembry. He is a defender and lives to do it. Also, to be honest, this isn’t the Cam I thought I’d see. I’m so impressed with this kid. He was and is struggling on offense but he understands that it will come. Not many young guys get that. We have some super mature rooks!

Trae is having a ball out there. 
 

I can seriously watch the game all over again...I just finished watching it. this cast.
