So that's us scoring in 4 of the last 6 offensive possessions to get 8 points.  That's actually great.

The problem is, we didn't stop them not one time.  And the one time that we did force a miss, they got the offensive rebound and still scored.

• LaVine 18 ft stepback jumper
• LaVine 18 ft pullup jumper
• DeRozan 20 ft pullup jumper
• DeRozan missed jumper
• Dosunmu layup

See, the only possessions in which we didn't score were the ones Trae and Dejounte went ISO an chose to take impossible shots.  Going ISO wasn't great... at all. It seldom works for us, and it doesn't really matter whether all the other teams do the same or not. Perhaps it works for them, but for us it's been really bad. There's absolutely no reason to try to milk the clock when up 4 with 2 minutes left. 

If we weren't going to stop the Bulls, then it would have been better to stick with what was working for us.

So was Dejounte, who was actually closest to the ball when Dosunmu grabbed it.

Uhm...  DJMs miss wasn't really an ISO.. On the JB, they gave us 14 seconds.  Ball swung to DJM and he had like 2 seconds.

Trae went ISO and got a layup vs Dosunmu.  When he went ISO vs DeRozan, he didn't get to the rim, but he created some space on a step back to get the shot off.

Dejounte went ISO and scored on a nice up and under move.  The 2nd time he went ISO, he ended up taking a very tough fadeaway shot.

Then you had Trae going ISO, making a great pass to Okongwu. On the last possession, it was push the ball up and he threw a pass to OO that he went and got.  That was a very risky pass, but Trae has no fear.

End of game offense wasn't the issue tonight.  This was all about the defense being unable to get stops.

AJ has to get more aggressive with his shot when he's on, but that will come with time. I'm actually glad Bogi is here to teach him.

It was really about Chicago's big two making big shots. 

I don't consider any of the shots that LaVine and DeRozen in that stretch were all that easy.  It's the shot that you say.. I can live with you hitting that.   They just hit a few of those in a row.

Not terribly mad at that game. I thought we played to the score and rhythm for the most part. AJ should have definitely been in to end the game as that’s his specialty: SCRAPPINESS! He’s definitely making the all rookie 1st team. 
 

OO with 18/11/5blocks. He’s coming on! This has to be his time now. He was a Covid rookie and whatnot but given Capela is out, he’s gotta give it to us every night and tonight he did. OO had that back door pass that was sweet too!

 

Trae needs help but god bless that superstar. I could watch Trae play all day. He was lit in the 1st quarter raining ️ threes! 
 

JC needs to define a role for himself. He’s killing his trade value for us with his bad play. 
 

We got the Pistons on Friday. That has to be a W.

Bogi's lack of situational awareness is bind boggling on defense.  Just WOW!

I'm just an old country boy who is pretty dumb about the complicated job of the head coach.

Having said this, Nate, this loss is 100% on you.  Apparently you had rather lose the game than use your rookie.  Don't say he doesn't do things like that.  Look at the stats:

AJ Griffin - - 21 minutes -- 5/7 shots - - 4/6 3's - - 3 rebounds - - 3 steals - - 1 personal foul.

With the lead, late in the 4th quarter, Nate refused to play his hot rookie.  Why?  He trusts veterans, not a rookie.  Where was he in the final 4 or 5 minutes?  Nailed to the pine!  Despite the fact that he has already had 2 game winning shots this season, AJ was not allowed in the game.

Nate, I was not really against you keeping your job until now.  You opened my eyes last night.  I kept saying, "Nate, don't you dare put AJ in the game now.  He might hit the winning goal and you would hate that."  

Once again, late in the game, the Hawks melted like an ice cube on an Atlanta street in summer.  It all came down to who was on the floor and the game plan.  We continue to do the same thing, over and over, in every game, expecting different results.  Who's fault is this?

Yeah Bogd bares blame but the lionshare goes to whoever thought it was smart for him to even be out there.  We don't come back without that stretch where Bogd and swAG's shooting showed up.  But he had no business being in on that last possession.

To the Hawks' credit tho, they forced a bad shot that missed terribly.  Just gotta finish by securing the reboard.

Nate has cost us 4-6 games this year alone. For a head coach to personally screw up 4 times in 32 games, it’s not great. Nate isn’t gonna be the one. I hope I’m wrong but at some point a change is coming.
