Still waiting to see if this happens.  Snider is highly regarded no doubt.

Yeah, that door remains firmly cracked... it's not even been 24 hours ago that suddenly Udoka was supposedly at or near the front of the line. Who knows. This may play out longer than we've been led by Shams to anticipate after all.

Robinson served in the military, no one was ever going to dislike him.

Trae was hated before he played his first professional game. All because WE traded for him. He is only polarizing because he has done so well and made his competition look bad while doing it. He never asked for the hate, but here we are. There is an endless list of players who could have the exact same career to date as Trae and not have ANY of the same criticisms. His narrative was not earned, therefore in my eyes who cares what people think. They were going to dislike this kid no matter what he did. They literally have already proven this to be true.

College baskeball fans in general didn't like him when he was at Oklahoma.  Oklahoma isn't Duke, they don't have a national pedigree. It was about Trae Young.  His GAME is polarizing, which is why folks keep bringing up the Luka trade.  Trae lead the nation in usage in college taking the same bad shots and volume of shots.  Skip Bayless is a Oklahoma homer and if ANYBODY has a reason to be on the Trae Young express, its Skip Bayless.  Bayless called it years ago:

Along with the media frenzy, Young's style of play has a role. He shoots freely, from well beyond the 3-point arc at times. Tuesday, he was 0 for 9 on 3-point shots, and he's hit just seven of his last 41.

Those misses, even as he keeps firing, gives skeptics ammo and fuels even more animosity towards him. Only a year after being the hometown hero, Young is college basketball's biggest villain, even if he doesn't want to be.

Shams reporting aside, Fields did say that they were trying to be "agressive" in trying to make a hire.  That said, you're right about it possibly playing out longer.  An agreement takes two parties.  We'll see I guess.

Said earlier, will say it again. It's so much easier for me to imagine this thing doesn't happen because of Snyder's demands for authority than it will be because of compensation... which is saying something still b/c we've learned that Antony P. Ressler can be, let's just say, frugally inclined at the worst possible moments.

Are you referring to the 92.9 the game? Mike Conti is about as pro Hawks as an ostensibly objective media member can be.

Mike Conti is not on the daily lineup of the cast of characters who are having a field day.

Replying to
C'mon Pat, Coach gets fired and the star of the team is on mute for 48 hrs? Please. Try that in Boston, NY, Chicago or Philly and he'd know what real heat is.

Have to agree with Mike here. Compared to other media markets, Atlanta is fairly mild.
