Official Game Thread: Magic at Hawks

Man.....this defense.  It's just as basic as fighting through screens and hustling to contest shots.

Orlando is hot but we gave them the confidence to get hot.  The amount of games where this has happened is troubling.

Also, Dwight needs to stop getting those 3-second calls - he always gets 1 or 2 a game.  Move your lazy ass around and quit camping in the lane!

Honestly the way we always double just has to make us pay. It will always make players like meeks shine. Really hate how bad were coached on d.

WHY THE F*CK IS MILSAP ALWAYS 10 FT AWAY FROM HIS MAN??! Their 4s were always open and if they don't drain the 3 the go for the easy bucket because Sap falls for every fake they make. I'm really bothered with Saps perimeter d. I can't think of a night where the opposing 4 wasn't hot. Payton on the other hand just hit everything. That wasn't necessarily bad d. he just couldn't miss.

We started the season by winning games even with subpar performances of the starters, because the bench played great. But some bench players came back to earth an some became starters, and now it's the bench loosing the games...

Our defense seems to start slowly and it allows the opponent to shoot themselves confident. And when the defense becomes better their shooters are in that great rhythm, that the keep hitting even if closely guarded...

But how can even guys like Payton – with 11 threes on the season so far – shoot 3/3 from downtown against the Hawks???

THANK YOU!

It sometimes is as simple as this. Once Bud went to Kent/Kyle/Moose lineups or even just Kent/Kyle, they were flat out toast defensively. And sometimes its about confidence in this game. They really got going when they were in together in the first half.

In the second half they locked down defensively until Moose came in, then those wings and cha ching! Orlando had another run. Their eyes grew wide with them in, knowing they could get whatever they wanted.

Sap's attitude and effort has been crap all year. I think he is ready to bail.

We all know the Hawks can beat every team. But for some reason we can lose to every team as well.

It seems like oposing teams are looking forward to play in our house. Orlando, Detroit or even the Pelicans coming in here and shooting LIGHTS OUT. It´s ridiculous.

Payton played wonderful. But did he ever hit like 5 jumpers in a row before? Those open shots from Ibaka or Meeks just cant happen. Certainly they hit every tough shot.

Payton played at a good pace but how did he break down the Hawks D like 25 times this game? It was the good screens he was using to his advantage. This happens to us so many times. And we can´t set screens like that on our offense. I wonder why. We had a few good screens in the last two games but other than that its awful.

Baze's shot selection is straight up terrible. He's taking shots like he's DeRozan. Sit his ass down.

Dennis had a Career high in assists with 13. The offense was ok despite the turnovers. You shouldnt lose a homegame if you score 120 points smh.

Payton's shot well because Bud tells them they don't even need to guard him, thinking that he'll miss even warm up threes. Every three he got was warm up and it started with Delaney.

They can't beat just any team now. They have been figured out. Most really good teams are likely to clean the Hawks plow from here on out. This team is bad.

Bud coaches defense like it's 2003.... You know, when teams couldn't shoot from the outside.

Bud is a shitty coach. Things peaked two years ago and now it's time to drop him.

For a team that is known as being poor shooters, hitting almost 60% of their

shots has to tell us something about our defense.

Ah, well.  we knew that we were close to the 8th place, east.  Couldn't have

that if we were going to be LOTTERY BOUND !

Great offense and sleep walk defense.  What a wild combo we had tonight.

Rookie players Hawks drafted, bench bound until it was over with.
