Dwight represented the Hawks in a classy way off the court and I can't hate on him for that. He never embarrassed the franchise either and he got us talked about a little more in the media. I loved watching Dwight play when he was motivated as well so I'm not thrilled that he didn't work out and I do wish him the best in Charlotte.

Happy trails Dwight. Wish you the best of luck in Charlotte. I thought you played hard for the city this year and were one of the few Hawks that played better than expected last year if ever so slightly. You guys might actually be good enough to be the 3rd seed next year if healthy. Toronto is falling apart and Washington scares no one.

Charlotte isn't going to be scary. They're not beating or even contending with Cleveland. Which basically means they mean nothing. They max out as a 3rd seed at the most.

Hated the contract. Still hate the contract, because something more reasonable (C-Viv hit piece aside) may have prevented this turn of events.

Loved the security of knowing we weren't going to be mercilessly out-rebounded in so many games... and wished it could somehow work out that the player fit the team style.

But more than anything, I've appreciated the person like never before. Dwight, you're a good soul, and I wish you nothing but the best in life and on the court, aside from those nights that ATL is the opponent.

And considering how he got treated on his way out...that is a lot more class than Schlenk deserves.

I loved having Dwight on this team. He was a rabid rebounder, scored at an insanely high rate and was good defensively. We should have fed him the ball more and I hope he gets touches again in Charlotte.

I enjoyed having Dwight on this team and sorry it didnt work out. I feel especially bad because he really wanted to play here, to be true to Atlanta.

Loved the way he played against the Cavs and the Celtics for us so that was enjoyable right there. Good luck to Dwight unless facing us.

Thanks Dwight for entertaining us fans for a full season (and a couple games in the playoffs we were told by many we wouldn't even make) as the Anti-Al. Keep working on those free throws, stay out of Amelie's late at night, and holler if you need auto insurance tips.

A few years too late as usual. Put him on the list with Stackhouse, McGrady, and Brand. He should have never made those stops in LA or Houston. He wasted time in those places when he could have really made a difference in a city that would have actually appreciated a prime Dwight Howard. All he got from those stops was a bad rep and a bad back. I harbor no ill will against him and I honestly hope he does well in Charlotte.

Dwight will probably be a HOF'er.  He was at times in his career a force to be reckoned with.  The league has changed though.  The time of the center that only rebounds and dunks and can't make free throws is pretty much over.  But you made that money and came close to a ring.  Kudos for that.  And even though you didn't embarrass yourself off the court here, you certainly didn't dispel the well deserved tag of non-team player.  You're just a kid at heart who never really seemed to find the passion to be a winner above all else and play to your strengths when your team needed it the most.  Farewell and good luck but you've still got to grow up at some point.
