Yeah it's not good.  His dad hasn't been away i don't think so something personal i guess or he is unhappy but i don't see him as that guy.

Where my head went was "still processing the death of a close family member."  I do hope he can get past his grief and return to the player we saw last year and get back to improving his defense, positioning, etc. that will help him level up.

Death is a harsh reality and we all must face it in our close family sooner or later.  Each and every one of us react differently.  There is no exact way that we must react.  It is a very personal matter.  No one is exactly like you.  

As AHF just said, we all hope he can get past this and get on with his life.

As AHF just said, we all hope he can get past this and get on with his life.  

With the loss of someone that young it will always be with you but people do re-engage with other parts of their life as time moves on.  Seems like Griffin has had problems with that and like you say we are all different and react differently to tragedy like this.  Wish the best for him regardless of basketball.

Probably sad that fans [aren't always considerate of what someone might be dealing with on a personal level].

Haha, i just realized that post was heavily edited by the mods.  Don't worry, I won't revisit it.  I didn't think it was that bad but ... oh well.

I'm still holding out hope that AJ can contribute this season. He was too good last season to be completely MIA so far this season. With the Hawks not willing to go into the luxury tax, the success of the team depends on player development and improvement from within. We see how much of an impact JJ is having right now. We need the other Dukie to step up as well. If AJ made no improvement whatsoever and was exactly what he was last season, that would still be a better option off the bench than what we've seen so far from the other backup wings (except for Bogi and Bey). Gotta get AJ back in the rotation or in the G League to get him back on track. There's too much talent there to let it wither on the vine.

We struck gold with JJ and got led with AJ. I think he can still turn his career around but he can go do that in a rebuilding team that is looking at 2-3 year window to compete.

Maybe he lost a loved one.  Maybe it was something a little more important than some of the trivial things that we can conjure.   At least to him it was.

Now they said it was Adrian's Grandson.....That means, AJ's nephew.   That's tough.  That in itself is something that may cause depression.

I remember AJ was considered young for a freshman, just checked and he turned 20 this past August. I know most of us didn’t have all of our stuff figured out at that age. Hope he is getting the support he needs first and foremost, and can return to his early season form on the court once he’s ready. I still have high hopes for him!
