So I'm assuming Travis wants to pay him no more than 72/4, so Dre is looking for a 80-92 million dollar deal?

If I'm the Hawks, I'm fine with letting Hunter play into Rfa if he doesn't want to sign for 72/4,  I don't have much faith he'll go back to his 15 game sophomore season form.

I'm guessing Hawks are looking to sign him to a Huerter like deal 4yr/$65. Hunter is probably looking for something closer to what Mikal Bridges signed for 4yr $90 million....More in the4yr/$85 million range.

Smells like a JC extension deja-vu… I just hope that we don’t cave in and get stuck with a mediocre to negative asset.

This year is crucial for Dre. No extension if no improvement.

If you can work out an early extension that makes sense you do that.

If Dre’s healthy all season and ramps it up to 16/5/3 on 39% from 3 he’ll deserve every penny of $80mill.

Would 16/5/3 on 39% from 3 and continued Tenacious D be enough for that $80-$90 mill? Not directed to you specifically, just a general board question. I think that’s where Dre needs to be to stick. At his peak in a few years I feel like he can ascend to 18/6/3 40% level, if he can stay healthy and works his ass off.

My main concern with Hunter is his health and his ability to stay on the floor.  He does that and the numbers are the numbers.

After 3 years this is Jaylen Brown's and De'Andre Hunter comparison and he signed a 4yrs/$104 million dollar contract. Hunter's injury history is the limiting factor for him.

Rumor to pass along.  Hawks are working the phones to pass along Harkless + trade exception from Huerter deal for a higher priced salary.

This would keep them at 13 players.

They are working on a few vets right now to bring in at the vet minimum and the MLE/partial MLE.  May hear something over the weekend/after Summer League.

Possible we finish with a salary $10 million north of the Tax line.

First real solid info I've had to pass along in a while.

Any update on this?

So ..... I have thoughts on this.

On the one hand, Westbrook gets too sensitive about it.  And, through his sensitivity, he's made the 'Westbrick' thing bigger than it had to be.  That's said .....

On the other hand, who's this clown?  Like the BSPN guy and Pat Bev before him, Westbrook has shat out better basketball than any of these turds.  Not only are they not on his level, they likely can't even hope to ever be on his level.  Thus they should really keep his name, and all cute iterations of it, out dey moufs.

Seems like a weird take from me considering I love trolls.  Meh, gotta keep em on their toes.

No I’m right there too. F (Scott Fitzgerald) Westbrook and Sochan the millennial 😂

At this point, all NBA news pisses me off one way or another. :laugh1:

Im a little late on this, but didn't we just hear that they began talks on Sunday, and less than 48 hrs later we are hearing that they haven't made progress?

Like, no duh. Negotiations just started, they are supposed to be far apart. Who starts a negotiation process by taking the first number from either side.

Not saying this won't possibly develop in to something, but its literally phase one of contract talks, 2 days in. I doubt this is a sign that it will become a thing.

Talk to me in a couple of months.
