It seems the consensus response from other teams’ fans has been “decent value for a non-star”.   Always have to find a way to throw shade….

Eggsactly!  And the rest are all 'great, now they can trade him'.  Like, really?  Any other team and its all positive about a high level guy wanting to be a part of something.  For us, all negative. Smh

Most of them were screaming...Hawks gonna have to max him at $40 million plus in year 1, we get him at $25 mil....they still take issue. Smh.

Spot on — A major future roster-building question has been answered.  Unless John Collins is being brought into this anticipated trade, aren’t we still expecting a rather significant TPE?  Very curious to hear what kind of names may be available just to absorb…

We still have the TPE as is, for now. We currently have a full roster and are $3 mil below the tax.

This was such a huge move by Landry and DJM. It shows Landry made the personal connection with DJ to make sure this deal closes. We both know Rich Paul can get in an ear for those commissions.

 

On a side note, DJ’s early injury probably was a big factor in this. He wasn’t offered rookie max because of it and probably feels better locking in the money. And for that I commend him for it because that $120m is life changing and nice peace of mind.

Completely unexpected, but I'm glad it got done. This ownership better be all in, because it's clear Murray is.

If New Balance ever makes him a signature shoe, it's an instant cop.

@Sothron @NBASupes Do you know if DJM committed to signing an extension during the trade discussions (for DJM from the Spurs) or was this decided after the season? It seems reasonable that they could have had this commitment before which is why they gave such a big haul for him.

Honestly, I'd imagine it happened this offseason after seeing what some other players were getting. Based off this offseason I'd be surprised if he got the full $40M next year.

If we keep them, no problem.

If we flip them for an upgrade, that's all good too.
