Good thing Hawks are in the East (Can still make the playoffs but not a championship caliber team)

I believe Hawks will still make it in the playoffs. There a lot of teams in the East struggling compared to teams in the West. Right now Hawks are 6th place.

I still don't think Hawks are a championship caliber team though, they don't have enough talent and Dennis still learning how to play as a starter pg and run a team. Same to Dwight, this is his first year as a Hawk, he's still learning to play with the team. Korver is inconsistent this year compared to previous years. Turnovers are still a problem, i could go on but i will still watch this team progress this season. I know there are some hawks fans who are not fan of coach Bud but I still have faith in Hawks and coach Bud,  Looking at Hawks history, Hawks won their first championship in 1958, i want to see them win their second championship coming from a Spurs fan. It might not be this year but hopefully they will win at least one before Bud is done coaching or get fired if things still doesn't work out.

They won't be for much longer.

I can see them best case being 8th seed as of right now. I definitely see CLE, TOR, CHA, NY, BOS, MIL and INDY making it. 8th spot is toss up between ATL, CHI, WAS, ORL and DET - they're inconsistent.

I would not include MIL and INDY - in any top group, they are just as inconsistent.

I'd group them as follows:

1. Cleveland

2, Toronto

3-5. CHA, CHA, NYK (no order)

6-8. MIL, ATL, INDY, CHI, DET (no order)

There are 10 games left until the 41 games mid-season mark, which ends on January 16th, 2017.

At home versus: NYK, DET, SAS, ORL, BOS, MWK

On the road versus: NOP, DAL, BKN, NYK

How many wins? We have a 4 game home stand to start the 10 game stretch - we have been struggling at home big time, getting blown out.  I'm hoping for 3 of 4 games on the home stand, SAS is a loss, we just can't beat them.

Can this team put together a consistent effort like they have been doing against the top teams ON THE ROAD vs Raptors and Thunder?

As has been said by many in different threads way less turnovers and some threes and we can win several but our propensity really leans the other way. Of course some screen busting perimeter D would go a long ways too. Still feel that Prince and Bembry would welcome the chance to show some hard defense. But just ten or less or no minutes won't let them do that. A challenge but hoping we make it over .500 by then.

The glass half empty look:

Melo always goes bananas against us.  Detroit, while screwed up, is tougher than us.  Boston, not a chance.  Dallas, New Orleans, Brooklyn we should beat so obviously we won't.   Maybe a chance against Orl and bucks?

glass half full: I don't know.   This isn't a super tough 10 games outside of Spurs.   Have to beat that damn Celtics though.  Have to.

Millsap better shut down Horford.

I don't think anybody could say for sure anything right now except Cleveland and Toronto are the top two teams.  AND we've beat both of them.   The bigger point is this.. a lot of teams (especially in the East) are still gelling.  US included.  So who knows what any of us will be.   The .500 record is indicative of the fact that we are up and down because we're still learning to play with each other.  On paper, we look good, but you have to factor in chemistry and chemistry takes time.

Yea Hawks beat Cleveland, it  shows that they can compete against Championship caliber teams like Cleveland.

Hawks is still having ups and downs, can't stay consistent and having problem with turnovers, that's why they are 6th place right now. If they are consistent, and cutting the turnovers, they are probably 1-3 place in eastern standings, but being top seed in the east is not important or priority for the Hawks.  This is a new team, Jeff and Horford is gone now.  Hawks still have to find their new identity, and figure out how to play each other as a team effectively, stay consistent and play their best basketball by the time playoff starts.

Even if we played strong basketball the rest of the way the Cavs and Raptors really have it together even with injuries and I just can't see anyone else catching either team. Don't believe we're going to see any home court advantage series this time around. Will be happy to get there and do what we can.

3 wins in a row.

Effort is definitely better.
