I don't even think I knew of this thread's existence. But yeah, JJ has become one of my favorite Hawks since this season (first opportunity). I love what he brings in terms of vision, passing and pushing the tempo from his position. 

Normally I'd be upset about AJ not getting PT under Quin. But if it's between JJ and AJ, I think it's more important we get JJ ready for the playoffs because we don't have another legit backup 4.... we do have a 2 and 3 though.

That's wild that you brought this thread up.   I didn't even see this in the Homecourt topics, but I did a search on Jalen's name, specifically looking for this topic.

Yeah, I was mentioning how well he was playing even before Nate got fired.  It was crazy how he was randomly getting DNPs in Jan and early Feb, in favor of playing Aaron Holiday.  Or seeing spot minutes and not getting less than 10 minutes in a game.

Since Jan 2, the Hawks are 11 - 6 when JJ plays more than 10 minutes in a game.  I love AJ's game, but JJ is what we need in this lineup right now.  Bey has made AJ less important on this team at this time, although Quin should be trying to play him spot minutes.  But if you had to choose from an impact standpoint who to play, the choice is easy.  It has to be JJ.

I said way back in December that the Hawks best chance to possibly turn things around in the 2nd half of the season, was to develop the kids. Nate looked to be committed to do that, but then he started messing around with Jalen's minutes.

Could/should and will are not the same. Not many players last 10 years with the same team anymore. Especially when they are not franchise players. Nothing against their merit. That would be a crazy dynamic frontcourt for us.

No I think he meant starter and backup at PF. Then again I dunno I don’t read his stuff anymore.

Jalen has now reached a neutral on/off, leaving DJ as the only rotation Hawk with a negative on and on/off net SMH.

De’Andre has fallen considerably but I’ll allow it when Trae has redeemed  so much from -.9 on earlier.  The elephant in the room is Clint though.  He has to be moved now that his defensive impact is clearly on the decline.  We just have to let another season play out with DJ’s clumsy fit.

Let's remember, the teams we have played recently have been top heavy. There's a reason why all of the starters metrics have steeply decreased.

True dat, but Clint was on the decline way before recently.  Hawks still have the 18th ranked strength of schedule up to this point and have been far more healthy than average.   Bey and Trae’s defense has given everyone a shot in the arm.
