Whew. Thanks for the Clarification - I was thinking Cam was faking injury.

I do remember you talking about the team wanting him to work on his core stuff.  I didn't realize the team actually held him out to work on those things.

I think we all have to agree that to be a good playoff team this year we need help.   This didn't get us any but hopefully the next one will.

Injuries often lead to player/team tension. The team wants the player to do such and such, the player and or his agent/trainer thinks he should do something else. Mistrust builds, etc.

Dude.  Cam was already the most polarizing player on the team.  We've had one of our most disappointing seasons ever.  There's zero chance of a truce right now.

So in summation, a protected 1st and Knox was not exactly a homerun, most evaluations have New York winning the trade. But there was tension with Cam and the team, so repairing that relationship was likely untenable, and we decided to move on.

On the flip side, if the pick was top 5 protected would it be helping us in tonight's game.  No.

So for me, I don't like the protection, but I'm taking a wait and see approach to how it all plays out between now and the draft in the offseason.

Ideally, the trade would have been Gallo/Cam for a much better piece, but.............
