Premium Member JayBirdHawk Posted March 18, 2022 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 18, 2022 Per the Googler: Treatment for a torn plantar fascia begins with a period of immobilization and crutches followed by a walking boot. Physical therapy will be initiated, and a supportive, custom orthotic will be made to decrease tension on the fascia. Recovery can take 9-12 weeks.
Popular Post TheTruth
Reporters/Fans: "Coach, with reports that John Collins is expected to be out indefinitely, that's got to be a huge blow for the Hawks." Nate: "Definitely. Any time you lose an All-Star caliber player like John who does so much for the team, it's a big deal. You can't replace him, but you just have to roll with and trust the other guys you have. They are all hungry. Reporters/Fans: "You mean guys like Jalen Johnson, right? Is he in line to receive meaningful playing time to help fill the void?" Nate: *Pikachu face* Also Nate:

We can't afford to let these injuries carry into a new season or potentially affect his trade value this summer. Exactly what I said earlier today.. Premium Member Popular Post hawkman Posted March 18, 2022 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted March 18, 2022 Collins being out is HUGE, but wasn't totally unexpected. At this point, Nate has to give JJ a look. He brings some of the same things Collins brings to the table (athleticism and rebounding at PF). He has a little more playmaking ability due to his vision and handle as well. He's inexperienced, but he can at least soften the blow of having Collins out for the rest of the season. There's absolutely nothing to lose at this point. Playing Gallo for extended minutes or playing Hunter at PF is not the answer. I know both of those things are probably going to happen anyway so I'm preparing for the inevitable eye strain from giving Nate the "side eye" for the rest of the season. SMH.

Why? Because this just makes too much good sense. 3

No one sits out more than a week or two at the most for something so minor. He's got something else going on in there more severe if it;'s still bugging him a month later. I always had a sinking suspicion it was plantar faciitis. The amount of time he was sitting out, the way he was able to move around on it totally fine in street clothes, the way it kept coming back and being an issue even after he returned to play some games. Classic PF. Timetable very murky for PF. Could be a couple weeks, could be the rest of the season.

The entire knowledge gained in the article is in the headline. It'd be nice if someone would dig a little deeper, maybe ask someone besides Nate, anonymous sources or what not on why this happened. Was it simply he wasn't ready and we had too many guys in front? Probably but it could be more.

I wish they would just announce he is done for the season. There's no reason for him to try and rush back recovering from his finger and the tear in his foot. I am way more concerned about the foot injury.
