His game just doesn't have a good perception. Coaches need to be more professional and get over it. They know how they gameplan to stop Atlanta and the #1 and #2 items on that list are things to try to stop Trae. White is on the top of absolutely no one's gameplans. Recognize the load these guys are asked to carry and the production they provide. Easier to be an impactful role player on a loaded team than a star on a team with issues. 7
Premium Member Popular Post Diesel Posted February 6 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted February 6 Another big point from Gil that shouldn't be overlooked... Brunson is in NY. The Biggest market in the world. Trae is in Atlanta... one of the smallest markets in basketball. One paper. Trae got more votes than Brunson. Where did all these fan votes come from. Somebody would say children, but let's be real.. there are not that many children going to vote. If it were just children, he would have been voted in before now... No.. there are fans who have watched games and saw how much their team had to do to stop Trae... and he still put up 30/10. Same fans saw Brunson. Same fans saw Dame. Same fans saw all these guys that the media and the players put in front of Trae and they say.. we want Trae. That should not be missed... and Silver needs to change this system. 1

The simplest thing would be to revert the whole All-Star game back to the way it was since you are already doing that for most of it. (i.e., no more media and player vote) That would have solved the issue this year. But Trae won't necessarily be voted in every year so the coaches still need to check their own egos and respect his game. He is very worthy of being on the All-Star team in a year like this even if he isn't voted in.

At least have some minimum game requirements.
Popular Post 909
Atlanta is the 8 biggest market in the NBA. The owners, fans and especially the media should be acting like it. Why is the falsehood that the Hawks are a small market team still exist? Nm 2

Nm As Agent zero was pointing out, if Atlanta is a small market and Bruson is the new darling of the east guards then how in the hell did Trae beat him out in fan voting. Knicks aren't as popular as people think. They just have loud media and an historic arena. 3

Popular Post Spud2nique
Trae is 2nd all time in Hawks history now and only trailing Doc for first by 81 dimes. By my calculations I think he’s gonna break it on March 5th in NY against the Knicks. #dimeking

I wouldn't knock Jalen, his improvement on the big things offensively is why he's one of the most improved players in the NBA. That said, we seen improvement on the small things defensively by Trae. I do think big market matters. Randle wouldn't be an all star in any other market. People simply don't watch the Hawks. Kids do but hoop fans don't. If you really stop and think about that, it's incomprehensible that only 1 out of 100 media that cover the NBA thinks Trae is one of the top 5 guards in the East. The ONLY possible explanation is that most of these media folks have some kind of dislike for Trae and don't vote for him based on that. And that, in my humble opinion, is professional malpractice. It's literally your job to cover the NBA. Not voting for a guard that is top 3 in the East in scoring among guards (5th overall) and 2nd in assists is, well, I don't have a word strong enough for it. But these media types that don't vote for Trae when he's deserving as some sort of message or based on personal agenda should go find themselves a different profession because they lose all credibility with me.
