I figured Jalen would take a significant step forward but goddamn.  He’s at a +7 average, easily AS level if he’s gonna take and make open threes.  His open floor, above the rim, and secondary playmaking game is a godsend for this squad.  I hope Nate feels a bit dumber with every watch smh.  It was painfully obvious JJ should’ve been playing out the gate.
 

Bey starting at the 4 is so silly to me, hopefully it ended tonight.  Nothing warms my heart more than seeing Lilliard star in the wrong side of a blowout.  As @NBASupes stated, the Bucks lost too many blue-collar guards.  Cam Payne as your BU ain’t even it.

Trae’s early blindside steal and layup set a tone and he had some spirited sprints off the ball.  I can dig it.

Great team effort tonight.  Guys were agressive, but trusted the gameplan overall.  Nice win.

The overall team defense

Hunter with 4 steals

Trae with only 3 TOs

CC with a rough offensive start but 12 monster boards

DJ's defense on Dame

JJ being JJ

FIBA Bogi plus 6 assists and 2 steals

Saddiq with 9 boards

OO battled 14pts, 7 rebs

AJ made the most of his minutes and hit his 2 3s

Objection to JJ being the goto has nothing to do with Trae.  Its about putting too much too soon on him.

Hey, can we do that thing with the boxscore?  Like every time a guard gets 20 on us everybody's all "Das cuz Trae can't defence".

Well tonight, I'm just gonna act like Trae locked up Lamian 1v1 all nite.

Look at that shot distribution from the 8-man rotation... everybody with between 9-14 shots taken, and everyone with between 12-20 points scored.  LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

Nobody appoints the go to guy, it's natural selection. If JJ grows into that, so be it. When he's the focus of the other team's defense, then we'll know.

Besides JJ needs to fix his freethrow shooting to be the go-to guy - 42.9% (sss)

You're right it's not, but we have to be realistic here. JJ excels in his role. Let's not give him more than he can chew right now. I haven't seen a lot of shot creation in his repertoire so far.  He's a guy that needs to be set up to score.

He did that shit so smooth I thought it was legal until I saw the replay.  AJ was still pressing him off the line as well as I’ve seen anyone do.  Not sure how Ridder started the season over Heineke, hopefully there’s no controversy next week.

So Klay-like.  It’s rare I slowly become a fan of a player over multiple seasons: I can usually identify the guys I love and hate pretty quickly.  Bogi did that.

Great team win tonight though.  JJ has been great and  been a pleasant surprise!  So glad to see him coming out effectively in the early season.  Has to work on those free throws though. It looks like the Quinn has unlocked Hunter.  If we can get this Hunter throughout the season the Hawks will be an upper echelon team. 

I believe Murray and Trae will play much better.  

 

There is a stark difference between Quinn and Nate and it's about the aggressiveness we've seen on the defensive end.  I'm loving the ball pressure and Nate seemed like he didn't care about that.

Let's get this win tomorrow guys and start building on something for the season.
