Isn't Westbrook a FA in 2018 as well? They'll both end up in LAL.

Well turns out we did offer for George.... and Butler too. Problem was we offered a bunch of future draft picks the thing was is that they wanted players and we had no contracts to match aside from Baze....

They tired. They wanted more than what they lead on. Honestly, blame teams like Denver and blame Boston. Boston didn't want to trade the farm so we didn't have too.

It would have been nice to get one of those guys or even Wilson Chandler who we also pursued... just didn't have the right assets the other teams wanted ... we tried.

Bird should have took a deal right now for George ... he is going to lose him for nothing in a couple of seasons and this was probably the year he would have gotten the most return.  This might turn into a huge mistake on his part.
