Im sorry I just had a flashback to when Team USA actually picked Harrison Barnes, Mason Plumlee and Myles Turner over John Collins, and picked Derrick White and Marcus Smart over Trae Young.

Where were all these people praising our ultra-talented Hawks roster then? 

Team USA really sent a hot headed defensive stopper with no offensive game to represent us. And they wonder how that team finished 7th at the World Cup... 

Damn you Lloyd Pierce. We know it was you that sold them out. You turned your back on your team AND your country!

The Hawks have taken on Young’s identity of fearlessness, and it has led them to the Eastern Conference finals against the Milwaukee Bucks. They just won three games in Philadelphia after the Sixers lost only seven times there in the regular season. This Hawks team believes it can beat anyone, anywhere.

Young’s leadership, particularly in the second half of the season, has grown significantly. His father credits coach Nate McMillan for guiding his son toward understanding how to be in charge of this team as the franchise’s cornerstone.

One of the partnerships that Young has benefited from has been with Bogdan Bogdanovic. Young has had to learn how to concede to Bogdanovic and others at times and understand how he doesn’t have to feel like he has to do everything now for this team to win. Bogdanovic and Young are so close that they feel like they can have any kind of conversation with each other, good or bad.

“I’ve told Trae how we’re only here for a certain amount of time and he has to always challenge us to be better,” Bogdanovic said. “Three seasons go by so fast and every year there are some changes, so we have to do it now. When you’re young, you think you have so much time. He’s doing a really good job of not limiting himself. He has no limits. I feel like we’re both really competitive and sometimes we don’t agree. I’m a little bit stubborn. He’s young. We see it from our way but at the end of the day, we figured out how we just want to win. Whenever we have little verbal fights — it’s not fighting, but it’s just a challenge to get better. He accepted me, and I feel like he respects me and I respect him. It’s easier to play with a guy when you have trust. You can tell him certain stuff and he’s not going to be mad at you because he knows we all want the best, and his confidence in us has helped us all.”

I wouldn't want Trae in the Olympics this year in anyway.  This will be a really short turnaround after this deep playoffs run.  I want him resting and training.  Come back and get our second title.
