I keep saying it, over and over again.  Perhaps Toronto players need to hear me.  "Hit those free throws if you want to win!"  And, behold, a player for the home team, with a 90% free throw average, goes to the line and misses two.  Their team loses by one point.  Do the math!

Agent OO17 has a good game for the Hawks!  Looked more like what we all hoped he would be as our #6 draft pick.  We needed to see this.

My west coast team, the Kings, won last night and are dropping by for their annual visit Saturday.

Great, breath taking win!  Moves Atlanta back up to a tie for 8th place with Toronto.  Their poor players looked like someone just let all the air out of their balloon when that winning shot went in.

Hawks are FINALLY on a roll.  Get well soon to all the injured players who are out.

Hawks drew up their “rip” play, which is what interim head coach Nate McMillan calls it, it’s for John Collins to rip to the basket for a lob. That wasn’t there. Then, it’s a two-man game with Trae Young and Gallinari on the perimeter. Gallinari set a screen at the top of the key, Young drove, but there was nothing there, either. It’s possible Young could have found Gallinari on the wing for a 3 but former Hawk DeAndre’ Bembry was closing hard.

Huerter slashed to the basket but wasn’t in position to score, but his off-ball movement was critical for Snell, who relocated to receive the pass from Young. Just a week ago, Young praised Snell and said, “Every time he shoots it, I think it’s going in.”

To this point (and yes, I recognize the sample size issue):

Hawks 4th Qtr (December - February):  7th OffRtg at 112.2 / 30th DefRtg at 120.4 / 30th NetRtg at -8.2

Hawks 4th Qtr (March):  1st OffRtg at 147.9 / 1st DefRtg at 84.9 / 1st NetRtg at +63.0

 

Again, I know the former is 34 games while the latter is 3 games, but the difference is STARK.

He is 28 and shooting 7.8% below his career FG% average and over 5% below his career 3pt%.  So there should come regression to the mean in a positive way with him.  We should trust 208 games over 12.

I think using him as spot up 3pt shooter like he's Kyle Korver is also not making the best use of his supposed varied skillset.

He's missed 25 games, so I expect him to take a minute to find him rhythm. Hopefully, like Gallo is starting to look better.

He just looks bad out there.  Almost like he is injured or something.  I hope you guys are right but I am skeptical
