Knicks are currently a ( -1.5 ) favorite going into Game 5.   Let's see how much the line changes between now and Wednesday.

Still sounds a little delusional. The Knicks aren't playing bad just because. The Hawks are playing legit defense and they can't defend the Hawks on the other end. It's that simple. The only reason he has any hope at all is because of the second half drought in Game 2. The Hawks missed the open looks in the 3rd and 4th quarter of Game 2 that they've made in Games 1, 3, and 4. They don't have anybody that can lock up Trae one on one so they have to trap/double. That just leaves wide open shooters that he's going to find every time. The only alternative is to let Trae get in the paint and we've already seen how that ends. They have no answer for the Hawks on either end right now. This series should already be over and he knows it.

I just came from the Knicks RealGM board and man is it sad.  100+ page game day threads, now their game 5 thread is 5 pages. Someone brought up Clint's, uhm..."speech" from today. Their answer was, well, they've been backing it up. You're winning 3-1, you can talk that smack. He's right.

Damn....defeated even in their forums.

I think it gets pushed to Knicks - .5

Fans will be pounding the Hawks I believe. At least ones who have seen the series so far. Still scary to bet against the home team in a close out game. 
 

Knicks .5 will be the ending line in my guestimation. The Hawks will knock a point off this line by tomorrow.

4th stage of grief - Depression.

 

Some are still in the 3rd stage - Bargaining.   

Saying . . "if only we can win tonight, we can push this to a Game 7.  At that point, we will win the series."

 

NY media seem to be in the 5th stage - Acceptance.  They're almost overwhelmingly writing off the Knicks, and now trying to spin how reaching the playoffs is a good thing in their quest to attract a big time star free agent.

He mentioned us a couple weeks ago, I’ve seen this a few times. He called us out with :45 left in the thing..around 2:15ish, NOBODY, the Nets, the ATLANTA HAWKS...

I have a knick friend who swears the knick fans are the most educated fans in the league.   Please.   For one there's no way to back that up but this year is very similar to any year that the knicks have been even decent.  They always think their team is a contender despite a lot of evidence to the contrary.  Which makes you a great fan but not necessarily an educated one.

Seriously.  The Irving thing absolutely does not justify throwing anything at him but at least in that case Kyrie played there, knows the significance and deliberately did that as a FU to the fans.  What in the world does that guy think Trae did that a reasonable person wouldn't?  The fans chanted FU all game to him.  Trae said, "it got awfully quiet in there."  Talk about a nothing burger.

Our guys have been pushed, punched, elbowed and even spat on, if they are fed up and want to pop off, so be it. Those old farts in Terrance Moore and Schultz haven't had anything to say all season long about the Hawks, I could care less about their opinion. They need to stay in the 2000's where they left. Moore especially. The biggest homer-hater I have ever seen.

Kirschner, for all his flaws, has been covering this thing since before it was pretty. He has a much better pulse of this team and he get's it. We have been disrespected for far too long by far too many people to sit back and let a team put hands on us and think they wont get it back in return.

I don't love the jawing prior to a close out game, but I understand it. I want our guys to play with edge and not back down from anyone.
