So he's not going to rest the starters and run the 2nd and 3rd unit exclusively?

Quin, don't do this.  Boston's reserves could easily beat us, and put us in a worse mindset going into the play-in game on Tuesday.

Just play the kids and the 3rd team, and see how they look if they get extended minutes.  You're not going to fix what is wrong with this team in a meaningless Boston game.

The only way you can fix things, is to change up your rotations in the 2nd half.

Quin trying to embarrass some of these players before trading them.. lol

Just keep it simple Trae and get the win.

Not in his DNA.. Never has been, and likely never will..

Ive been screaming about those stupid careless turnovers since 2018, and he seems to be getting worse taking care of the ball.. Especially in crunchtime...

Trae shouldve been a Globetrotter... lol

Ya' gotta' hand to it to Gray Mule.  He talks softly and carries a big stick!  🙂
P.S. Hey Gray Mule... how many of these young pups will know from whence that saying derives?

Could be from this bible verse:

Therefore, all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you,

do ye even to them; this is the law and the prophets.   Matthew 7:12  KJV

So many "new" ideas and sayings that we modern humans have can often be traced back to the bible.  We just recycle them and put a modern twist to them but they are right there all the time.

It came from a Teddy Roosevelt speech regarding foreign policy.
"Speak softly" meant be a good neighbor and treat other countries fairly up front.
"Carry a big stick" meant that in the event of the need for force, however, be fully prepared to win the fight.

The Hawks are ready to go home.

We can start talking about next year !

I’ve been talking about next year since November when I said the best course of action was to go full tank mode for Wemby.

Not gonna lie, Gramps knocked down a peg for not knowing this.  I even gave a clue.

Interesting. Since most of what is in the Bible was ripped off from previous cultures too.

The sad thing about this team is that we really don't know which team will show up.

They could get swept, or push a series to 7 games.

To me, there are no dominant teams in the NBA.  Milwaukee is the closest, with their 58 wins.  Boston is good, but definitely not great.  Philly is Philly. They'll find a way to mess it up.  Cleveland is the dark horse, because they have the best defense in the league + a guy who can explode offensively and win a game by himself.

The West is wide open.  Denver is #1 with only 52 wins, and are under .500 on the road.  IN fact, the only team out West with a winning road record, are the Sacramento Kings.

So I just want us to get in, and let the chips fall where they may.  Maybe we have a situation in the NBA playoffs, like they had with the NCAA Tournament.

Notably, the only time the Hawks ever took home an NBA trophy?

The 58 St. Louis Hawks won 41 games in the regular season.

Lose tomorrow, and we're on-track to repeat that feat 65 years later!

😄

Yeah, they only played 72 games total, but still... the only NBA team with a worse regular season record to win it all... the 78 Bullets... 3 games above .500 (44-38).

Not really the topic here, of course. But lest that go completely without context, it objectively comes down to what authoritative sources one considers authoritative, and what other assumptions one is willing to accept or dismiss. That's as much as I'll consider appropriate to say in a basketball forum.

Our defense and rebounding last night was atrocious. Harrell scored 8 of his 11 points from scoring off an OReb. The wings from Philly ate us up.

How much is Philly paying those "wings" that ate us up?

Yeah, Trae's turnovers were mostly bad lobs that he has made before.   Miscommunications.. and one stolen ball.

It may be a bit of playing down to the competition?  But he's three ball has been off too.

Dude just isnt a good shooter....Most of our team isnt.....

Hawks took 11 more 3s than the Sixers last night and made 1 fewer.. lol(you have to laugh not to cry)

Quin ran the starters the whole way down the stretch and in overtime with the exception of Bey coming in for Dre in overtime due to Dre’s minutes restriction.

Quin ball doesn’t work with this starting lineup. If Quin wanted to use the regular season as an evaluation period to confirm that, fine. But hopefully starting on Tuesday when the games count again he isn’t going to stick to Nate’s rotations. Geez...

What exactly is this when he hasn't to my understanding installed the full parameters of HIS offensive philosophy?

Quin uses alot of sophisticated sets..

Alot of Cutting and moving without the ball...

Ive watched alot of old Utah games since he was hired.

Good bball IQ is a must for Quin ball...

Hawks starters arent the brightest crayons in the box.... lol

Quin's not crazy! I guess Hunter may play some to get reps after injury return.
