Clint didn't foul Ayton just so he can look like he's on rollerskates chasing Simons

Before Clint took to skating.. can we discuss why Hunter didn't get the doggone rebound?

Hunter looked lax about going to get it and the other guy just wanted it more.  It was so disappointing.

I watched that play and thought maybe Hunter forgot it was the 4th quarter and not the 1st.

Like there was under 10 seconds left IN THE GAME, not the half.  I won't say he wasn't trying but it definitely looked odd.  He had a pretty disjointed game overall though.  Had a few flashes of his aggressive play of the last few weeks.  But had long stretches of just being out there.

He'll be better next game.  The avatar spoke it to me.  The avatar... vatarrrr.... atarr....

Hunter will never, ever rebound. We must accept that now.

He is never going to be a standout rebounder for someone with his size and gifts.  4 rebounds a game should be expected as long as he is getting around 30 mpg.  This is never going to be his strength but he should be chipping in some.

Some guys just don't have a knack for it.

We talking about effort.   Not technique.  Not knowing how the ball will come off the rim.   We talking EFFORT.

The ball came off the rim... Hunter seemed to jog to it until he saw the other man straight out blitz for it.   Maybe his mind wasn't there last night.   But that lax play costed us... maybe the game.   Or Maybe Hunter is team tank?  Maybe Hunter is Tankmaster General and he wanted to make sure that we look good enough to watch but we don't win?

Yes, I sat up and watched every stinking minute of the game.  You know I can't watch and post.  It's either or.

Good 1st half.  Hawks got a big lead, only to see it shrink to 5 by halftime.  Quickly, in the 3rd quarter, our 5-point lead became a 5-point Portland lead.  Murray cooled.  Bogie's illness caught up with him and he couldn't.

I know where we lost the game.  Do the math.  Hawks went 18/13 at the free throw line.  That's five points.  Lost by 4 points.

Clint missed 4 FTs

You blame Bruno for not getting that rebound?. He boxed his man into the middle of the paint with both players tipping the ball.  If the big has the man sealed, the teammate at the FT line is supposed to drop down and completely eliminate the chance of a middle rebound.  The other guy at the FT line who is not boxing out the FT shooter, has front rim seal off responsibility to completely eliminate the offensive rebound opportunity. You're taught this in high school.

If a certain weak rebounding player would've helped Bruno on the box out, there is no opportunity for Portland to even get a hand on the ball.

Bruce Weber explains this perfectly.

[]  The reality is Bruno's positioning on the attempted seal (wall) on Camara was absolute trash. It allowed Camara to slip past his right hip and challenge the rebound. If Bruno sets up a better wall and positions himself squarer to the basket, he has a better angle to grab the rebound with both hands and seal Camara. Giving Dre a better chance at getting a clearer path to the rebound. Go back and watch the play again, it was lazy.

The Bruce Weber video was [of limited value since he is not] a college head coach known for producing NBA quality big men known for rebounding. Deron Williams was a good guard talent though.
