Even if he ends up passing, he needs to force the action in the paint to force the defense to react.

It's not agenda driven at all.  It's facts. 

Teams fear Trae's scoring, which is why he sees so many double teams out on the perimeter.  The double team is to get the ball out of his hands.

You talk like Trae didn't have 3 high scoring games during this win streak.  And Trae has only had two double digit assists during this streak.  His teammates have finally stepped up to carry the load offensively and defensively.  Something that hasn't been happening until LP's departure.

When Trae has it going, this team is just different.  We're a borderline elite offensive team when he has it going.  Don't be surprised if he ends up with 16+ points this quarter, which will blow the game open.

It has nothing to do with me being wrong or right.  It's the strategy that decent defensive teams tend to deploy against Trae.  They don't want him to get going offensively, because that's what will quickly extend a lead for us . . . just like what happened in the OKC game.

Right now, our defense is excellent ( along with horrible offense from LA ).  So even if Trae doesn't hit those scoring marks, we should be OK in this game.  But in a game in which our opponent is scoring at a normal rate, we'll have to keep pace.

Normally, Trae is that scoring spark.  Tonight, he hasn't made many jumpers, but we're +17 because of Collins and the team defense.
