I would add for being a specialist on defense he doesn't disrupt the way Delon does with deflections and steals.  He is a net negative player at this point.  Too many turnovers, not enough rebounds, steals, and assists.  I don't see him making a positive impact on the game, and in this series he needs to step up with Trae being limited by Miami.  

If we had Max Strus instead of Hunter this series would be wrapped lol.

Yes, we all understand that this isn't all about Trae. We've all went back and forth over the team's flaws. How another star level player is needed... How we need a wing that can draw attention and attack the basket, but before last few minutes Trae was having a terrible series. He has to play better going toward.

Problem is Miami is selling out 100% to stop Trae. There are plenty of opportunities for our wings to get easy shots, problem is they don't make them consistently (outside of Bogi). All of our bread and butter stuff with Trae is gone, late in game with Bogi getting super hot again, Miami was much less eager to double and it openned the floor for Trae Young. Yes you expect your 30ppg player to put up points regardless but dude is 6 foot and not the athlete Iverson was. He can't just shoot over people or go all game into the lane with abandon. He needs space, and if Miami is selling out the other guys have to make shots, drive the ball and swing it. If they do that Miami starts hesitating with the help and it opens the floor up enough for Trae to be able to create.

Trae is met by Tucker/Herro  or Tucker/Butler...  But also Bam is behind the front line in case Trae somehow gets free..  People that's a triple team. 

Earlier in the game, Trae was passing because Hunter/Kev were getting open behind the frontline. 

However, later in the game, Hunter was continuously wide open at the three point line. 

I believe Spo is saying... You can't beat us with Hunter.   And as soon as Hunter gets the ball, they scramble to him.   In the third quarter it got bad because he either missed the shot or he gave up a turnover trying to dribble.

When we were down 16, I thought we were done, I haven’t had that feeling in a long time. I lost my hawkbeat, right then my gf said, it’s early, lots of game left (hey that’s what I say ) but I was very skeptical.

It was a special moment and I reflected and acknowledged it after the game.

Hunter is like half a second late on everything. It’s almost like he’s returning like Collins and trying to get his timing back.

I’m hoping he picks it up because Spo is going after him in game 4.

Crazy but I think Skylar can play in this series.  Sit Kevin and Gallo, give him a 7 minute stretch and go from there.  If he stinks it up, fine, mission abort.  If he’s +8, ride him out.

The runs in that game were insane.  It seemed like each team had 3 different 8-0 runs then matching +20 runs wtf.  Glad we had ours last lol

It is worth noting the following when getting worked up:

Jimmy Butler scored 20 points on 20 shots

Bogi scored 18 points on 17 shots

Herro scored 22 points on 20 shots

Strus scored 20 points on 13 shots

And…Trae scored 24 points on 14 shots

 

Guess who was the most efficient scorer?  Trae scored more points per shot than anyone else in the game.

Now we all know he can be better but if that is your “woe is me, Trae is overrated” moment then I’m just going to say that I’m not as overwrought by the whole thing.  
 

With the defensive attention he received, leading both teams in points per shot to go with only 1 TO over the last 3 quarters, leading both teams in assists, and adding 4 defensive rebounds to boot (equal to OO and better than Gallo, Delon, and Hunter) is still a step in the right direction.  Of course, clutching the win doesn’t hurt either.

Why would you be making judgments on Trae’s career etc based on a couple of games regardless?  I get someone thinking the game is lost as a snap judgment but not “we can’t win with Trae who is all of 23 and won games the conference finals for the first time in Atlanta history just last season.”

That was on Nate for not calling a time out. I don't mind being mad that our players are sucking, which they did....just that there we some 'exceptional' suggestions and judgements.

They not just selling out 100% on Trae, they selling out 100% on any of our perimeter players.
