Is it a scenario where they trade Hayward to another team as a salary dump for say #26,  and make a separate trade for the SG/SF. SF/PF from another team using #14.  Or is it one trade with the same team?

Atlanta is highly involved in a number of deals (trades, & potential signings) including a blockbuster where the terms have been met from Atlanta but has not from the 3rd team which could kill the deal. Atlanta is being very aggressive. Very very aggressive. This team is not playing any games. What's holding things up is the CBA negotiations.

i can’t think of any other reason as to why we are looking to skip steps.

Don't tease us like this. I need details Supes. What state are the teams in? What position do the players play that Atlanta would get? Give us a bit more.

Or they want to keep a budding young star happy and be in contention for great free agents in the next class. 

That's some thinking to get to Travis wants to make the team better to Travis wants to make the team better because he's afraid of being fired.

I don't think we are skipping steps.  these are the steps.  This is why we worked so hard to have all this cap space.  So we can acquire talent without giving up much if any.

The FO isn't skipping steps, Trae did when he became an all-star. We need to make him happy and try to win now before he starts being recruited by other stars.

These are the steps.  Once you have your engine/star, it's on mgt to build the winner around him.  No need to waste seasons.

I can vouch this is 100% accurate and there is really good reason he can't say anything right now. This is when relationships get ruined.

Only the top people in the org know everything....lots of people hear some things.  Saying what you say too early will burn that source.

Can you tell us if in your opinion these are good deals for the hawks? Is the deal that is contingent on the hawks supposed to bring a big name to Atlanta? Or is Atlanta facilitating the trade by getting bad salaries and picks?

I remember him being a shock that he went first and that Bibby was the favorite coming into the draft.  Wish this draft's top 10 was as stocked as the 1998 class!

Will will not be getting bad salaries!  This really depends on the final deals but in the 10 man rotation, we would be getting 2, maybe 3 upgrades depending on your opinions. If it all goes down, we are a top 6 team in the East this year "IMHO".

 

What many forget is how good we were with John in the lineup but with no real center. many nights we were playing 4.5 on 5.  When Collins came back we had either...a hobbled Len (don't get me wrong, Len is a fine player when healthy but he played hurt for a long stretch), an overmatched Bruno or a near useless some nights Damian Jones and we were almost .500 with Collins.  Add Capela and 2 rotation upgrades and you are looking at a .550 + club.

Supes said he was a lock.  Wasn't saying that others might not view it differently but was based on Supes' statement.  That is consistent with the mocks were nearly all of them have Ant in the top 3.  Maybe he ends up falling ala Paul Pierce or something.  Could be a good opportunity if you can take him a bit later than he is currently projected by most.

Boston is kind of ****'d right now.  They don't want all these picks and this is not a draft where people are super excited about picks in general let alone the range that Boston is picking.  I'm sure they would eagerly trade their picks this year for an unprotected pick in the future.  Good luck find the chump GM that would agree to that kind of BS trade.
