I love that Simmons is going to be traded after this. There's no way Philly can bring him back after this. My concern is that they actually get a point guard back that can actually shoot. 

 

No leadership skills whatsoever from Embiid.  In fact, who is the leader of the Sixers?  It's not Embiid. And it's definitely not Ben or Tobias.  I guess the closest leader of the team is . . . George Hill?

And people wonder why the Sixers aren't mentally tough?

100%. Dude is going coast to coast full speed, going up for reckless monster dunks, launching his body like a torpedo into Collins' knees, talking shit, shooting 70% in first halfs... and then morphs into Alex Len and starts grabbing his knee (the wrong one at times) after every facial, missed bunny, FT etc. in crunch time. 

Keep scapegoating Ben Simmons, who never really gave you any offense this whole season Philly. Last time this team finishes #1 in the East. Book it.

Thybulle fouling on threes in pivotal moments is an underrated story to the Sixers implosion.  It won't be mentioned in the short form highlights and reactions.  Could have cost them both games.  All NBA defender....

Think a big part of Embiid's problem is he is way too focused on social media and he thinks he can influence everything around him as such, the media and the refs for the biggest examples. HIs presser after game six pretty much said it all and pretty much everything he said was a blatant lie. Bad leadership for his team.

I lost a lot of respect for Embiid.  The fatigue is a big problem, but also the attitude.  A leader points to their mistakes and responsibility first.  He had 8 TO.  He never took over to close a game.  Getting tired and launching fade aways.  Ben Simmons did not make the key mistakes to lose the game.  The Hack a Ben game you can put on him, but not game 7.

Don't care for Embiid now after all the crying his BS (in particular the dirty stuff that could injure someone) but really when they brought in Seth thought they had covered their long range problem which might be enough to get to the finals. But their point guard can't shoot so it is the same thing in the end. Believe they can win more with Embiid and a pg that can shoot but not him and Ben together. Plus they now have to go thru us moving forward.

We have "balanced" talent, and can play multiple ways.

With Nate finally discovering that we can play all 3 of our bigs in the game at the same time, this takes our defensive potential to the next level.  

Like with the Sixers, the Bucks beat people because they can go extremely big on their frontline with Lopez ( 7-0 ) - Giannis ( 6-11 ) - and MIddleton ( 6-7 ).  You play all of our 6-10 guys for them to be able to switch onto any of their frontline guys.

 

When you look at who are the best players in this series, once again the Hawks may have the advantage, when talking about the top 12 players in the series:

• Trae
• Middleton
• Capela
• Collins
• Holiday
• Huerter
• Bogi
• Gallo
• Lopez
• Lou
• Tucker

Philly was a top defensive team this year. It was their defense not their offense that got them the #1 seed. They'll ship Ben out now, it's almost a guarantee, they'll stick Maxy out there as starting PG. Will the team finish top 3 in defense with Maxy? How much better offensively will he be than 14ppg on 50% shooting to make up for the loss of Ben Simmons +2.3 Raptor defensive rating?

I agree that Middleton is the guy that they can't let kill them.

Understand what you are saying and agree they may not ever be better but am remembering their three point game is the only reason other than the refs why this series went seven games. Seth and Milton killed us for their three wins. They will be much more balanced without Ben am thinking and a point that can shoot should help. Think we have now shown we can win on both ends of the court against the team with the best C in the East. And again they will have to go thru us.

Yes, but how often can you count on Milton, a poor man's lou will, and Seth a career borderline starter who is a turnstil on defense to give you those type of performances. My point is whatever Ben didn't give you, they had guys make up that production throughout the series. Philly had an 113 offensive rating in the series which is exactly what they put up during the regular season. Unless they add another number 1 scoring option in place of Simmons they aren't going to catapult themselves from 13th to top 5 on offense simply by subtracting Ben. On the other hand if they get rid of Ben, then what all defense caliber player will take his minutes? There isn't a single PG in the NBA that is both all nba defense and a top offensive player. None.

What happens if the Hawks did what they were supposed to do, and trade one of their young players for a better offensive piece?  They used the salary cap as an excuse as to why they couldn't make a major move, but they never considered moving one of their young players either.

Hell . . Woody even got the Knicks to win 54 games, and into the 2nd round.

He's nowhere near as bad of a coach as ATL fans make him out to be.

You're wasting your time. And yes he is as bad as everyone says he was. It's pointless to go into this elaborate piece of why a dude fired a decade ago was a horrid head coach. With all the retreads in this league, there's a reason nobody wants him to lead their squad.
