Clint and John rebounded great last series.  I want to see a whole team effort to box out Giannis and Brook and some crashing the offensive glass too.  Draw a nice number of over-the-back fouls.  Easier said than done but I’m sure Coach will stress it.  While you’re at it gimme some illegal screens from Brook by getting over.

Underrated comment to be honest -- if you don't draw a couple, you're not trying hard enough for the boards.  Everyone knows the refs let like 5 of these go before they call 1

At least we know who Trae is guarding, old ass P.J Tucker, who has not taken more than 10 shots in any game.

TS does his radio interview tomorrow. Hopefully, they ask him about Cam Reddish. If he gives the usually refrain of "he been's out a long time, no chance for 5v5, etc" then he most likely wont be playing in the series. Feels like the team has already decided he wont be returning no matter what. The team could find a way to get him 5v5 if it really wanted, that sounds like a lame excuse. I really hope they press TS on the matter.

After reviewing some of the highlights of each game against them. All three matchups  saw a number of different key players out for each team. We only played against their regular lineup once and that was the last game which Trae missed so it's kind of hard to get a true feel for what we would do. Here are some trends I noticed.

We preferred Kev on Jrue and Bogi on Middleton. Bogi is stronger and Kev is a little quicker so it makes sense.

Trae hid on Forbes the one game he played, so I can see this being Connaughton.

There didn't seem to be an assignment on Giannis or Lopez, JC and Capela each took turns in all the games. The focus seemed to be to stop him from getting down hill so whoever was closest in transition picked him up and the other went to Lopez. 

The only time we marked Giannis with a defender was when Solo started for JC. Other than that it was committee by proximity.

Solo started all 3 games and guarded each of their big 3 at different times. I think Solo gets a lot of run this series, but how we use him depends on Bogi's status. If Bogi is good to go you will see Solo get a lot of reps against Giannis off the bench. If Bogi is limited Solo will spend a lot of time on Middleton. Gallo did really good on Giannis as well. 

From Milwaukee's perspective, they preferred:

Jrue on Trae

Middleton on Bogi

The weakest defender on Kev each game, so Connaughton.

Giannis was on JC but always cheating to the ball like a Free safety 

Lopez camped out in the lane.

Offensively they tried to post JC if he was on Giannis and they wanted to pull Clint out of the lane and clear out if he had him.  Ideally Lopez was 3 steps behind the 3 point line keeping his defender honest and unable to help at the rim. Every time Clint or JC left Lopez the ball found him wide open.

Their strategy was simple, Giannis was either 1 on 1 moving towards the basket or a shooter was open. 

Obviously there is more to their offense but this was the way they wanted to attack to get the defense moving.

For the playoffs they have 5 guys stroking it:

Forbes, .400 3p%
Middleton .380

Portis .353%

Connaugton .350%
Lopez .343%

Tucker has been getting starters minutes, mainly due to guarding KD, but has been struggling from the field. Even against Miami he played more minutes than Pat despite being a reserve. Bud can continue to sell out defensively and take a shooter off the floor or he may consider limiting Tuckers minutes and put more pressure on our defense. Tucker can't guard Trae, so they would be playing him to guard Kev or a hobbled Bogi. It may not be worth it to do so.

Very disappointing from the Hawks. Rappers get cart blanche access, but beat reporters trying to cover the team are kept out because of "covid". Shameful, hypocritical and wrong.

I would normally say we have no chance against this Bucks team in a 7 game series, especially with injuries. However, this is a coach Budenholzer led team and when Bud is thrown into the equation you can throw chance out of the window.

They are hard to score to on. Their big three, Giannis, Middleton and Holiday, along with a still effective Lopez, is a hand full to say the least.

Not "rappers"..Just Quavo...He's the ambassador...He basically drafted Trae Young..lol. Why should the media be allowed in he locker room while the team celebrates anyway?

They're going to play a lot of drop coverage in the pick and roll, which means Trae can have field day with his floater against them.

So people like me and you get can get information and stories about the team. You know, that's kinda her job. Is Quavo going to provide updates and information? She has every right to be upset if the team is playing the "covid" card to keep her out, but letting rappers into the locker room.

Not rappers..Just Quavo..You can get information when they come out of the lockerrom..Sarah was halfway joking btw..lol. Youre way more upset than she was..ha..

JC usually gives Tucker issues based on Houston/Hawks days. Giannis usually gets the best of JC but this year, JC been our best player against the Bucks. Trae only played Mil and had his worse game of the year. I am not sure but I think Trae was coming back from an injury and this was nationally televised. Our only regular season lost with the MLKs and I don't think we had Capela or any of the wings that game.

Just for everyone 's peace of mind Quavo is fully vaccinated.

Also, reporters get to interview the players via zoom, they aren't shut out from doing their jobs.

Some would argue that it was always a little too invasive for reporters, many of them women, to be allowed in to the players locker room anyways with a bunch of half naked men walking around trying to shower and decompress. That's been a conversation before. I sure wouldn't want them sticking mics in my face while Im in my underwear. Just saying
