We've scored 1 measly point in 2 1/2 minutes.

And the big thing is that Murray and Bogi are not going to drive hard enough to the basket to draw a foul.  They're always going to settle for the jumper.

It's the one thing that holds Murray back from being a big time offensive threat.  All of the good to great scorers in this league can draw fouls.

I don’t know why DJ doesn’t square his shoulders and accept the contact.  He certainly drives enough.  Although not as long he weights the same as SGA who has a summer home at the foul line.

So blame Trae all you want folks.  He's +9 in this game.

Murray is ( -18 ) and Bogi is ( -16 ).  

If you want to blame the kids that they're playing with, OK.  JJ is ( -13 ) and AJ is ( -8 ).  But if they can't generate offense, or get stops with no Trae in the game, we're going to lose.

It's the same thing Joe Johnson used to do.  JJ barely averaged 3 FT a game, because he was so good at getting his shot off in the midrange.  But sometimes, you simply have to go hard to the basket and sometimes seek out contact.  That's the way you stop runs and calm everything down.

People look at FG%, but who is really more efficient on offense?

 

Murray:  20 points on 18 shots . . . shooting 50%

Bogi:  11 points on 10 shots . . . shooting 40%

Trae:  16 points on 12 shots . . . . shooting 42%

 

This is why AHF swears by TS%.   If you can score AND get to that FT line, you become a major threat.
