Having a coach that turns his ego down to both recognize how special that is and nurtures it is equally refreshing.

Some may know I am NOT a Rick Carlisle fan because, based on everything I've read about him, he's the opposite of that.

Micro-manag-y jerk that wants to control everything.  I'm sure he's hating the degree to which his player holds the unquestioned keys.

It's part of why I'm dubious on their prospects.  A butting of heads is coming and it's gonna be real hard considering how married Cuban is to Carlisle for their one flukey title.

Yeah I said it.  Fluke.  Dirk gets tremendous credit for spearheading that run but let's not pretend that wasn't a blip on the radar.  That organization's shown a complete inability to build a winning program over the past 20+ years even with a HOF player.  No reason to think it's gonna change now.

I gotta say it is hard for me to watch the game and post at the same time, so I rarely do it. It is funny reading back through all the comments to watch the emotions go from panic, disdain, gnashing of teeth, to I told you so, that’s my boy, and I knew all along we would win. Lol. 
 

I will say there have been some posters that were gone a long time while we were blowing past expectations and winning games, but mysteriously showed up when we started to lose to a much better opponent just to point out flaws in the team. 
 

It’s all good though, I guess this is a place to lay your frustrations and critiques down as much as it is a place for joyous celebration.

Beal and Buttler on the list are absolutely fkng jokes.  A player from a nonplayoff team on 1st team is malpractice and evidence that reputation matters as much as actual performance, which is ded-a** wrong.

Trae is making his case for next year's team right now so I'm not concerned.

Similarly, JuLLLLius RandLLLLe's postseason is making the voters look like brazen idiots.  Well more like brazen idiots, I shod say.

I give it two. It'll take Dallas "building" around him two more times and maybe Carlisle getting fired before everyone realizes he's not making his teammates better despite the stats. That's not really a knock on him as much as the the type of offense Dallas is running. Averaging a near triple double is great until you get gassed in the 4th quarter. Then you want the teammates you relegated to being ball watchers and spot up shooters to flip the switch and become playmakers and save the day.

More bulletin board material. I would love nothing more for him to beat all the All NBA players in the East and make it to the finals. What would they say then?  He has already cooked three all defensive players and a most improved player on his redemption tour.

The only thing worse than getting snubbed is seeing how the voters manipulated their lists just to include certain guys.

Butler made all NBA listed as a forward, but was voted in as a guard for All Defense 2nd team.

Bam was voted in as a Forward for 2nd team all Defense just so he and Embiid could both make the list. But Bam played every minute as a Center...

When people start talking about Trae has better supporting talent than whoever, just remind them

No Hawks were all stars this year

No Hawks made any All NBA teams,

No Hawks won MIP, 6th man, DPOY, ROTY, etc....

And Nate McMillan didn't even sniff the COTY honor.

We were shut out in every single voter based award this season.

But somehow we are still standing while most of their darlings are sitting at home watching us play. 

We have SO much talent, but not one talking head wants to put their vote where their mouth is.

The only selfish silver lining is that this makes our guys value cheaper to resign. But its a shitty circumstance none the less.

I agree or at least name the winners immediately after the regular season. I don’t understand why they wait so long to make the announcements.

No Hawk made it.  Why should they?  History at the time of voting showed that, up to that time, Atlanta's Hawk team wasn't very good.  Check the record.

What makes any of us believe that any Hawk makes the next one?  Listen to the national media.  Most will tell us that we've got this far, not because we are good, but because the other teams have slipped up.  Sure, we get a lot of praise as the game is going on.  Later, not nearly as much.

We Squawk posters know.  National media don't really believe.  Not like we do.  We are now known as an up and coming team.  Someone who might be good in the future.  But, not really right now.  We are 2-2 in the second round.  We win 2 very close games.  We are blown away in 2 games.  National media talk about our 2 losses as expected and the close wins as an "Oops" by our opponent.

I will not really be too upset if we have no players masking it next year.  Squawk posters don't count.  We know what we have.  National media have stars in their eyes.  Stars on their favorite team that is not named the Atlanta Hawks....

Also, anyone who complains about Trae "getting phantom foul calls" when he was wacked in the head by Embiid on that drive needs to watch the 7:20-7:30 portion of this video to watch Embiid get away with a blatant foul and then fake his wake to a non-existent foul call immediately afterwards.  STFU about bashing Trae unless you are going to first bash Mr. Embiid for this type of BS.
