Its double, new roster or coaching for some as well. Trae, Hunter, Kevin, Cam, Bruno, and Capela showed some rust. Capela less since he's a vet who knows how to play.

Good game ...there was plenty of highs and lows. I was very interested to see what kind of offense would be on display and I like what I saw in terms of consistent ball and player movement. I thought the team overpassed quite a bit however especially Trae. Trae was really pressing to get his team involved when there was times he should have been looking for his shot in my opinion. 
Bogi and Trae will learn each other as time goes on....I’m not at all concerned about the backcourt. They’ll figure it out.

the front court was solid. Capela played well, JC played well, and Cam and Hunter played well. I really would like to see cam start on Sunday to see how he’d play in the this starting lineup. Cams defense is still better than hunters even though hunter looks much improved on the perimeter.

again it’s one game and it’s not much we should be down on. The real analysis of a team and how their playing doesn’t deserve to be graded hard until the 8th or 10th game of the regular season in my opinion.

Nothing unexpected for the first game in 9 months. It will say a lot of if we can come back on Sunday and really stick it to them.

Wasn't it great to watch a Hawks game!  And, we got to see a lot of new players.  Still missing some.  Now the coaches have game film to watch.  That's something new!

Our opponent has played a lot more than we have.  Been 9 months for us.  Sometimes, this Hawk team looked kinda lost.  Peoriabird says we duplicated.  No problem.  Assets are good and tradeable.  By mid season we will begin to see what we have.

Considering everything, I thought the Hawks didn't look too bad.  I noticed we missed some free throws. Boo!  Time to clean this up!

In time, everything will improve.  Shots will fall.  Turnovers will lessen.  Hawks will learn to play defense.  And, some day soon, we will get to see the remainder of our roster.  How about that!  We haven't yet.

I'm gonna hold off on bitching at least until the regular season starts. My guess we will be right around .500 20 games in.

I never put much stock in preseason as it’s just getting back in game shape ...

people are bagging on Bogi ... I thought he did pretty good ... I love his ball handling and aggressiveness ... If you are going to bag on him then Trae needs it more as he was terrible shooting and had six turnovers ... however neither deserve it as it’s the very first preseason game 

I am waiting for hotlanta to show up and say the season is doomed.  Let’s chill and just enjoy the fact that Hawks basketball is back.

The team is learning to play again and together after such an extended leave ...  not to mention that the team has had an huge overhaul ...

I liked the effort on d during spurts and ... they showed flashes that we can really be good there...

I also thought the uniforms looked sharp.

Its a long season and there will be some growing pains ... but preseason game one doesn’t tell anything but we are playing again.

You guys realize if Trae had a mediocre game this would have been a blowout right? Even with Vuc playing his best we would have ran them off the floor. Hell if Rondo or Dunn was available would have been a W.

It doesn’t matter ... it’s preseason ... it’s just getting in game shape, gaining chemistry and working on things ... winning / losing ... who cares

Their starters destroyed ours.  Vucevic was +25.

Having said that, there's no need to worry about anything right now.

Bogi signing has no bearing whatsoever on the Collins signing.  If Collins does not budge on his demand for max money Schlenk would probably move on with or without Bogi... unless Collins completely explodes this season in which case we probably will extend him even with Bogi on the team.

I think in the near future (a season or 2) Don't sleep on Bogi though I think once he gets comfortable he's gonna be another fan fav. Bogi and Gallo will take a few games before we really see what they bring to the table but I agree it will/should ultimately be Cam and Dre when they're ready.

We got bird rights and an owner that loves John and is ready and willing to spend his money with Ressler. I want to keep John like I'm sure the whole organization does and again we have the bird rights. I'm sure Schlenk is just being Shlenk & making sure the numbers are crunched correctly so we can resign all if not most of our core. It's a delicate situation that takes time when taking the future in account. Signing Bogi might've guaranteed we keep John unless we make a trade which would be hard to include John because his current rookie salary wouldn't give us nowhere near the return he's worth since most stars aren't on rookie contracts. Be easy and like some would say trust in Schlenky. Be happy we're deep and not depleted. It's a shortened season but with Covid it's going to be a long season as far as keeping bodies on the floor. Relax and let's atleast give it to late January to see what we really have.
