Y’all - don’t waste your time sitting through SportsCenter this morning waiting to see Trae Young at #1 in the Top 10. I took that bullet for you. He didn’t even make the freakin’ list.

Don't bother trying to explain when people are being disingenuous. We have posters on this site who are low key salty about Trae willing the team to a road win against the #2 seed because they don't like him.

People, and possibly even yourself, kind of forgets the value that his passing has on a game.  He scored 38 tonight but also had 13 assists.  He's the best passing PG in the game.  Only Jokic may be a better pure passer than he is. 

Brown's overall advanced metrics are far worse than I realized.  He's a very good offensive talent, but he doesn't give you enough of the intangible things to really consider him to be an upgrade over Trae.

And with Trae's defense improving, he's proving a lot of people wrong about him being a liability on the defensive end.

He's an absolute liability on that end for the most part but playoff Trae isn't a bad defender.

Now, of course, we lost game 7 then, and we're not even on the cusp of game 7 2023 yet.

Of course I'm very happy with the W, Trae played "well" in the 4th, made the game-winning shot, it was very nice to see.

You do know that almost ALL superstar players are selfish to a point, because they believe in their ability.

What would you have liked to seen?  Bey, who has never been in the playoffs before, take late game winning shots?  How about Hunter?  JC?  Bogi?  All of those players may be capable of making game winning type shots at the end.  But you talk as if Trae has never done this before.  He knows what to do at the end of games.

 

Game winner in Game 5 vs the Knicks to eliminate them.

10 points in the final 5 minutes of Game 7 in Philly, after having a horrible shooting night

Game winner vs Miami in Game 3 last year.

Game winner last night vs Boston in Game 5.

 

LOL . . you talk about he almost threw the game away.  The man had 38 points and 13 assists . . zero turnovers in the 2nd half.  He played above average defense most of the night.  And he made the plays that we needed to make to win games.

And yet you still have mixed feelings about him?  LOL.

He hasn't been an absolute liability on defense in 4 months.  The entire fan base has documented as such. He's not perfect on defense. But he's nowhere near as bad as he was 2 - 3 years ago.

He absolutely has been outside of the 8-9 game stretch when Quin got hired and he was trying to prove to Quin he's a team player in the RS. His defense was horrendous in the 1st half of the season and he needs to thank Murray for some of his defensive metrics not looking as horrible on Murray's presence alone. While Murray defense took a tumble after ASB, he was key defensively for us when Nate was here. 

I don't know what ya'll be watching in the RS. Trae was absolutely awful on defense in the RS. He did have a nice 9 game stretch with Quin where he played defense in the RS and I was like, who the hell is this

I actually think that Clint is more of a liability than Trae and maybe even Murray now.

I watched the post game interviews...  Adversity hasn't hit just yet but there are cracks.  IF we force a game 7, the whole team will be cracked.  Right now, most of them still think... we just let that one get away.  However, if we handily beat them in Atlanta (which will be damn near impossible to do) they will be a broken team.

It's not that hard Supes.  Give that man credit, instead of holding onto something that isn't a narrative any more.

• OO ranks 1st in 3pt% at 100% (not surprising at all)

On the Team side:

Boston is a bad matchup for Clint.  I've been advocating for OO to start over him the whole series.  They should, imo, match Clint with Rob Williams when the celtics go bigger.  Otherwise, just play small with OO, JC, and JJ in the frontcourt.

Boston is a terrible matchup for Clint and he's still adding defensive value.

Oh I forgot ... follow those logic.   So we're gonna trade Trae, per Scal.  Which presumes who is the new kead guard?  Murray, right?  Well they then go on to kill Murray for his response to the suspension.
