In all fairness to Paul he really didn't shoot the ball poorly. Most of those misses came from him getting straight mugged everytime he took it to the hole. Incredible that we went to the line 40+ times and still the Kings got away with murder on some plays. Never seen a team foul so much in my life.

Yea I didn't like his shot selection  and how he missed Dwight a few times when he was open

I didn't want to say he was bad and he wasn't really good so I thought solid was  a good description. But I do understand why you wouldn't even consider him solid with some of the things you listed.

There was two shots that Dennis missed in the first half that you have to make and should make. A wide open three with no one within several feet of you has to go down. It has to. His third quarter stint was noticeably bad however and then they went to Millsap as the main playmaker. He came back in trying to push the pace in the 4th and get shots out of it...and he did relatively well to no avail.

When is the last time the Hawks shot 47 FTs?

The power game of Dwight is a game changer.  When you crash the offensive boards like he does, you basically have no choice but to foul him.  And even when he misses 1/2 of his FTs, the sheer volume of them takes its toll on a team.

His misses aren't nearly as catastrophic as they could be on this squad, because we can play great team defense and limit the scoring of the opponent.  Dwight missed 4 FTs in a row at the end of the 1st half, yet was still +2 in those last 2 minutes, because the Hawks went on a 6 - 0 run to close the half.

If it makes you guys feel better, he went 5 - 8 FTs in the 2nd half

That was one of the weirder Hawks wins I've seen.  I want these 14 and 15 FT attempt games from Dwight to be few and far between.  Making the opposing Big sit and getting the rest of our capable foul shooters in the penalty early is great.  Totally stalling the offensive flow of the best assisting team is not great.  Good thing Bud fashion his teams to be chameleon-like and win in a variety of ways, no matter how unappealing.

 Anyway, Threezus Has Returned (well!) and the game seems to have slowed down for Sap even more.  He's getting easy rebounds off anticipating bad bounces and was allowed to read a play and totally freelance for an easy steal.

I knew nothing of Delaney before the season.  I like that kid.  He's pretty poised and understands spacing.

You can see the difference Dwight is making. 18/11 and 4 blocks? Yes please! He is the main reason we got so many free throws. We put teams in constant foul trouble with him on the court. It is a night and day difference from soft as Charmin Whoreford out there.

Dennis needs to learn that he is at his best when he pushes the pace, but I don't think he wants to push pace the entire time he's in.

R.I.P. Dwight's 75% FT shooting 10/26/16-10/31/16

It was nice to see Dwight get a lot more involved at least and there were still a few badly missed opportunities to get him easy looks. Especially on the 3 second violation. Dennis almost got killed by both teams' centers tonight.

Seriously, "The Miserable Ones" get uneasy if there's nothing to bitch/moan about. Tonight we won, now 3-0, D8 went 18 pts 11 reb s and 4 blocks. When daFUQ was the last time Hawks had a center show out like that in a game that seemed like we were being dominated the entire time. Wake y'all a$$ UP and understand Hawks top 5 in the East O.o

I will continue to beat the Thabo drum, I just looked it up and his plus minuses to start the season are: +19, +19, and +20 which, for an average of +19.33, is best on the team.

Dont look now but Baze has started the year -2, +5, and -3 for an average of +/-0. For a starter on a team that's has won every game by double digits it's pretty hard to not move the needle in a positive direction. He is definitely in a funk.

I know tonight he was more effective but make no mistake, Bud closed the game with Thabo in the lineup for a reason.  He simply is making winning plays on both ends of the court and his defense is the best on the team by far. He has earned the increase in playing to begin the year and sooner or later just may earn a starting spot again. I personally think he deserves it now, but wins dictate that we won't change a thing for now.

Long story short, we are a deep team and Thabos savvy is a major reason why we have been able to finish off these teams down the stretch. Don't forget how different our team was 2 years ago when Thabo was in the lineup vs out with injury. Our defense and win % directly correlated to him playing. The proof is in the pudding

Agree. The King's starting frontline had fourteen fouls and could have been called for several more. Dwight can put the opposing starting frontline players on the bench for good stretches. Advantage us.

This last one is interesting....very, very interesting.

If he's saying the team chemistry has never been this good before, that obviously implies he's saying it wasn't this good last year. The only two players he could be talking about are Teague and Horford. I wonder which one (or both?) he's taking a veiled shot at here? The logical guess would be Teauge, but who knows.

I don't know if this has to be a shot at somebody. I mean team chemistry is hard to figure. It was good the last years but it seems like it is even better this year. Sometimes there are just Little Things making a difference. Everyone seems to be on the same page now. With that beeing said I can imagine Teague and Schröder weren't as close brothers as they told to the media. Teague's 'bad' play last year was like he was feeling the pressure from Schröder more and more. So that obviously could be a reason for some 'bad blood' in the locker room, but still this post does not necessarily have to be a shot at Teague and/or Horford. I think Dennis is just really enjoying the situation beeing a starter in a team with good teammates and friends and thought that this pictures shows that perfectly.

I think it was pretty much common knowledge that Teague and Horford kept to themselves. Dennis and Dwight are way more vocal on and off the court.
