By the way, Lin hasn't hit a 3 point shot this year.  Somewhat concerning.  Missed all of his attempts in pre-season and last night.

3 pointers require legs, he's still finding his, at least I hope.

Agreed.  You would think the young guys would be nervous but it seems Prince and Baze were the culprits.

We seemed to be a step slow on EVERY defensive rotation.

Both seemed desperate to step in the role of “the guy” for their own reasons.

Lin has never really been a good 3pt shooter IIRC.

The offense needs work. Too sloppy. Too many cross court passes, wrong cuts by wrong players.

Work in progress.

Somebody needs to take charge.  I sort of feared this feeling out with Baze, Prince, and TY.  They need to figure out who is lead dog and run with it.  When JC comes back I expect him and Prince to handle this.

There is no lead dog...........yet.

He is a career 35% shooter not 0%

Which is average. That means it’s statistically likely that this slump will also have a “hot run” to accompany it and balance him back out as an avg. shooter.

I agree with Jaybird and believe it is related to his injury.

There is a lead dog.  It's Trae.  And the sooner everyone gets on board the better.   I know he's got to earn it and he will.   But the offense is going to have to run through him for it to work.

What they are saying is there needs to be a secondary play makers when Trae is trapped and harassed like last night.  Prince ain't it.  Prince is just a scorer now not a facilitator.

Can someone decipher this graphic?

It's graphing offensive points added to defensive points added.  It shows that for one game, the only player who was positive in both categories is Omari Spellman.  Sample size issue alert here.  This will become more detailed as the season goes along.

Basically close to the top means you played good defense (according to this stat), close to the bottom means you played bad defense. Close to the right means good offense and close to the left means bad offense. Bembry was our best defender and worst offensive player (again, according to this stat). Omari was the only player positive on both ends.

How was Baze considered a neutral defensive contributor while getting torched by THjr?

We need to take the best defensive wing with one of our picks next year. Having one or two great defenders can really have a big impact.

I think we just need to emphasize it as opposed to trying to play at a break-neck pace.  No need to draft a specialist that high.  You can find that guy in the gleague.
