DJ is a DOG... All he does is push the guys to be better. His post game he only focused on the things we need to improve on which is awesome. We just can keep improving as long as he pushes the guys, especially Trae to be tough on defense.

 

He has that fire that we've been needing in the starting unit.

Kg's thoughts ....

Murray is fun to watch.  Takes pride on D, is a midrange demon, gives us a dimension athletically we haven't had in our backcourt.  Opposing fans gonna hate this guy ..... which I luuv.

Trae was off but it didn't kill us.  Leaned into his best skill (passing) and stayed effective through his struggle(sic).  The Mitten showed up too, just ask Green them couple plays where Trae was really disruptive.

Collins was on.  He was the mismatch and they didn't go away from him like they have in the past.

Hunter looked good.  Active.  Aggressive.  Keep that up and he will have taken a step.

OO was good last night.  Capela looked ok.  I like the big man combo, not one over the other.  OO improving his play helps the rotation.  It does not mean the other guy is now tradeable.  Jmho

Bench guys came in hot.  AHol is a ahole on D, and I luuv it.  How disruptive was he?  We've needed that.  JHol played his role well.  JJ was fine, will be better with time.

Lastly, all that said, we were still without a top7 player who has the ability to win games for us.  When BANGdonovich returns, watch out league.

Buddy def has a bit of that Brady/kobe serious competitor vibe, chip on his shoulder always, this will def change team chemistry, this guy is going to push ppl it's in his nature, It almost seems as if he's the alpha already. Which is good when the guys are in their feelings he will just go out and take some games over and drag them up to his level to get back into games they may think they are too far down in.

I liked what I saw last last night, especially defensively. Early returns on Dejounte are excellent. The main downside from last year is without Kevin, Gallo and Bogi we are missing a lot of shooting. Hope we don't come to regret the Kevin trade, he played good in Sac last night.

I clamored for it before, he’s a dime guy. Remember going back n forth with North about deciding if he’s Iverson or Nash. Trae is the best pure passer since Magic.

I think Capela's best last night was altering a ton of shots at the rim that won't show up as a stat.  Time and again guys get in the paint and had to pass out or shoot a fade away.

It was funny watching the Sengun guy try to back down OO - he was a rock, couldn't be moved.

Ngl...  Bruno looked like an NBA player.  Houston's offense was primarily using his screens to generate space in the pick and roll.  It worked.  He set some solid screens. 7 assists.  Didn't see that coming.  Not bad.

Everybody has kind if hit on all the nice things we did bu I wanted to mention Justin Holiday. I think he will be a lynch pin in our success this season. He really understands basketball and his role. His level of urgency is perfect and I hope it rubs off on the rest of the team.  He is the veteran presence needed for this team.

dre played a good game, only complaint was there were multiple times he had tiny gordon guarding him and settle for a mid range. Bully the dude and take it in the paint.
